BayAreaLennie Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 The Vikings have requested to interview two Eagles execs for their open GM position — Catherine Raiche and Brandon Brown. NBC article re Vikings interview requests of Eagles execs. One of the reasons this is significant is because under the NFL’s 2020 JC-2A resolution passed to encourage the development of minority and women GM and head coaching talent, if the Vikings actually hire one of them, the Eagles would be awarded extra picks at the end of the third round in each of the next two NFL drafts.

Hire 'em both!! 2 2

I think if another team hired the other one as a GM in the same year, you would still only get two draft picks. The Eagles might deny requests for the other one because of that until next year (kind of defeating the purpose of the policy, but whatever).

UK_EaglesFan89 Posted January 15, 2022 Posted January 15, 2022 Wow I mean an extra third round pick would be pretty freaking awesome.

It's at the very end of the 3rd round, so you could call it a 4th rounder ... but you get two of them, one for each of the next two years. The total value of that is something like an early 3rd round draft pick, so yeah, it would be nice. That said, all the teams interviewing for those jobs sprinkle in at least a minority/woman or two, so it is not clear whether the Vikings are actually serious about potentially hiring one of the Eagles candidates. (And it appears that the Eagles may have given permission only to interview Raiche ... Brown is not listed among the interviewees for that job on the CBS interview tracker.)
Talonblood Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 And now Gannon for head coach. Vikings love them some Eagles. 1

xxeaglesfanxx Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Why are so many Eagles coaches and execs being talked about for new jobs? They were THAT good.
Sack that QB Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 If either are hired, they get two 3rd round picks. In the case of Reich, it would be like the opposite of "Get woke, go broke" Lurie playing 4D chess with woke hires. Trying to profit.

That’s not a bad round and they could may be get a decent player.
