His heyday was a little before my time, but some of my earliest memories, both musically speaking and otherwise, are of my mom wearing out Bat out of Hell and the music video to "I'd Do Anything for Love" MTV in the early 90s. She Bat out of Hell and its release seemed to coincide with my musical coming-of-age. I must've been 5 or 6 at the time. He really was an innovator and a music genius, the definition of a trailblazer. Really humble guy, too, apparently. They really don't make musicians like they used to.
