2019 draft.....

So all the talk has been about how much JJ sucks and we could have had Metcalf... Another miss we had and a player i had on my draft board is debo samuel dude has turned into a real stud lately and while we didn’t miss on drafting him three time like metcalf could have had him over dillard! 

 

Also AJ Brown was in that draft and went two picks before we drafted Sanders!

Even Diontae Johnson and Terry McLauren drafted in the second round later then JJ :(

 

while i feel Dillard showed he can actually play and isn’t a total bust this year the eagles front office really outsmarted themselves with this draft and could have set themselves up nicely if they went a different direction.

You can go crazy looking at where every star player was drafted and comparing players we drafted beforehand, Tom Brady being the best example. 

We missed on Metcalf, but there were red flags. Reagor over JJ looks to be the big miss.

If you want to feel better, look at the 2018 draft and all the tackles that were taken before Mailata. Or DEs before Sweat. 2021 looks really promising so far as well.

I think the majority of posters make this a JJAW v Metcalf thing and I don't think that's correct.  I wasn't a fan of Metcalf in the draft because of his neck medical and he was still fairly raw as a WR and didn't run enough of a route tree.  Sure, that can be taught, but IMO he was going to take at least a couple years to develop.  It happens that he was a fit on the Seahawks in their O and they used him in a perfect way that played to his strengths and worked in their O.  That wouldn't have worked here.  No way he puts up close to the same stats here as he has in SEA.  Their BIG mistake was drafting JJAW before ANY other WR.  Drafting either Johnson or McLauren would both have been a way better decision.  JJAW simply wasn't good enough, but for some reason they were convinced he could be the next Alshon.  They completely F'd up with that pick.

Debo is amazing..but He came out as WR..and from what I see he switched positions to a RB.  As an RB he is simply amazing, as a receiver there were questions about him. I am not sure he would be aloud to do the same things on our roster. I see it as Another's team success, due to their composition and fit.

he is only playing more RB because they had a lot of injuries and saw he was good there so play him in that position more. he is amazing though

We wouldn't be using Deebo as creatively as SF is using him. I'm pretty sure about that. He would still be great because he is a tough dude. But, I doubt Doug or Nick would be using him like Shanahan is using him.
