The Eagles need to build it right. Start from the line, and move backward from there. That means LINEBACKER is after the D line, cb's, then safety. The Eagles go line, cb's, safety, then linebacker last. Build it right, or get out. 😁

Not saying we are good right now and all will be well but if we get this offseason right this can turn around pretty fast.

The question is did we make the biggest mistake possible last offseason with the hiring of Sirianni?

That's a mistake that's hard to overcome unless you have a superiorly talented team.

Definitely would be nice to see an influx of playmakers on this defense. This defense rarely provided short fields for the offense. No sacks, strip sacks, and interceptions. Frankly it’s hard to evaluate how good Gannon is, because he was stuck with a defense that was fundamentally flawed at defending.

With this draft class at DE, expecting Barnett should be gone in free agency and Brandon Graham not getting any younger I want to see them draft 2 Defensive Ends. One in the 1st and one again in another round.

Sweat is good but they need to take advantage of the talent in this draft. It could solidify that position for years.

I hope they don't think they are fine at DE. Hyping up Sweat today on their Facebook page.

interesting i’ve seen him mocked all over the map from top 7 to 20… i would hope a trade up wouldn’t cost to much guess it depends how high they think they need to get.

If the Eagles are making noise about their draft plans, it's a smokescreen. If they are discussing moving up, it will be for someone else.

McMullen reporting this so it’s not happening.

You're probably right, they never leak their plans and the rumors are usually wrong.

We all hope for major changes on defense what i didn’t realize is just how many free agents we have one defense.

with Barnett, McLeod, Harris, Nelson, Avery all free agent starters

and Singleton a RFA starter

plus Ridgeway

there could be a huge amount of turnover this year. that’s not even mentioning anyone’s opinion on a possible trade of Cox

I would re-sign McLeod for the veteran leadership, Harris if the price is right (would prefer to spend more for Jordan Reid), Nelson will probably get a better deal elsewhere, Avery - gone, Singleton if cheap, re-sign Ridgeway for depth.
Would like to add a veteran DE for depth as well, then load the defense in the draft something like this:

I would absolutely hate if Fletch is traded.  He and Brandon Graham along with Kelce are the heart of the team.

Well, he wasn't traded

Creates another need at DT, meanwhile they have no starting safeties.

still hoping he stays.

How Dare You! They have Marcus Epps haha

Not much noise going on. My guess is Howie is actually going to use much of the draft for positional need. We may sign someone by this weekend. But, I want to see what he does with these draft picks.

The last time they drafted by positional need was 2011 and we all remember how that turned out... arguably the worst draft class in Eagles history.

Soooo you think they aren't going to draft a DT/DE (a need)? Or a CB or Safety (another need)?

No, I am just saying if they come up to their first pick and a player is there who wasn't supposed to be regardless of position they should take them not reach for a position they need just because they need it. It's how they ended up with Danny Watkins and Jaiqauwn Jarrett.

Still, if the board falls a certain way they have options all the way across with the 3 picks )Move up down, move for the future). Regardless of how it happens they are going to pick for need.

I'm all about being patient in free agency and Reddick was a really good value signing.

Sounds like Cox is coming back, but we really still need a veteran corner who can at least hold down a starting spot until our first or second round rookie is available.

Also still need one more splash free agency signing - ideally WR or safety, but options for both are running slim.

Mathieu signed with the Saints so they're thin at safety, and thin at CB starting opposite Slay.

The LBs appear to be improved finally, thankfully Dean fell to them in the 3rd.

Jordan Davis is a beast, but I didn't like not drafting a DE in this draft.
