You mean the business decisions made by artists? Is that the fascist attack you mean? Artists making  a free choice?

That is your idea of fascism?

Did any of you stay awake during history classes?

Him, Procus, Abracadabra, they do that a lot.

Van's face when he's got a "but drumph" post already drafted but no one cares enough to prompt him to post it.

It was more of a copy and paste job than it was a fully drafted post.

It's just such a strange thing to be afraid of.  You're a very principled poster so I'm surprised you'd be hesitant to clarify your position here.

I'm sure it was fantastic, windmill.

Doesn't matter if it is Trump or Biden led.  We should be very careful with regard to the government stepping in like this.  Let the private companies decide themselves.  If there is some real and clear need to regulate then do that (hopefully not).

It's a really bad nickname, so we're clear.  I mean, it's better than when you were somehow convinced that I was a fatty, but it's still pretty bad, because it's based on a stupid drawing you post, not on anything that actually happened.  But I've noticed how you've reached for nicknames for me over the years and kept striking out, so good luck!

Surely you don't think companies get the same reach out of a limited edition flavor as they do out of a woke controversy, do you?  It's not even remotely comparable.  We're a week out and people are still talking about it.  There's no chance some kind of flavor change would get a mention anywhere longer than a few hours after an announcement.  Controversy has legs.

And the beauty of this campaign is that it's not even really controversial.  It just plays into a narrative without putting any real teeth into it.  They changed the shoes and pants of a cartoon M&M and included some vague statements about how the candy would treat each other.  That's essentially nothing.  But they knew it would push certain buttons and create right wing rants and memes and gain them far more traction than it deserved.

And to your point about losing business, the real threat there is minimal and the added free advertising trumps any real chance of that happening.  Because in the end, most people aren't particularly passionate about politics, but they like M&Ms because they're delicious.

I know the whole concept of no such thing as bad press and all that.  Yes of course it's generating media attention and "buzz."  Does that equate to more sales?  I cited Nike, where some protested and boycotted while others purposely bought more to support.  That was a larger issue of racial justice and Kaepernick's kneeling at the anthem and all that.

Does the media buzz about this m&m's thing equate to more sales?  I found an article that said m&m smaller package sales were down 4.5% in 2021 from previous year but still #2 among brands, while the medium/sharing size bag sales were up 7.7% and leading the candy market.

These companies virtue signal, many of them knowing they risk losing sales to potentially offending certain groups.  It's candy cartoon characters, is anyone really clamoring for more equal representation of m&m cartoons?

I can't believe the US government trying to shut down Spotify this way. I mean. Wow.

His dozens of fans don't even know what Spotify is anyway.

WXPN playing him during lunch.
