Potential option at WR

Need a QB before we add WR’s

if i didn’t know any better you would think your user name was WR Please haven’t seen that guy around in a while.

Apparently the Eagles were high on Chark the year he was drafted so there's a chance they'll be interested.

didn’t know that one… i see rumors flying around now that metcalf is getting traded this off-season because the hawks are going to rebuild and don’t want to give him a big contract wouldn’t that be something

I mean look I heard it on the ITB podcast where they said the Eagles were high on him in the draft. But I mean they passed on him right?

yes they did but i also know howie really wanted to take wilson in the draft and was pissed he went just before them.. he has lots of ammo could he really swing a trade to bring both here if the hawks want to rebuild?

not saying it’s what i want to happen but i think if you add wilson and metcalf to the offense we still have a solid online and decent rbs and te we would go to a force even if wilson only has a few years left. use the rest of the picks we have left on defense and maybe we are right back in the thick of things.

Don't we have cap issues again next year with Wentz's dead money?  If not, your idea would be incredibly entertaining.

I wouldn't look too much into future cap years. Howie likes kicking the can

I wanted the Eagles to sign Tyrell Williams a couple seasons ago...Chark to me is like a superior version of him so I would totally be on board with signing.

Any time I hear his name I hear the "Baby Shark" tune in my head, with two small kids at home I have been traumatised by that song!!

🤪

Hard pass from me! 😉

Easy for an organization to claim they "were high on" a player after someone else drafted him and he turned out to be decent.

Well yeah that's very true... But if they have the opportunity to sign that player and they claim they were high on him then they should go ahead.

I’d give up all 3 1sts for a Metcalf-Russell combo deal

Chark is near the top of my FA WR wish list.  I think he is a more realistic target than some of others that have been mentioned like Godwin (who I like a lot), Williams, Adams, etc.  He also fits the description of free agents I am more interested in adding this year which are younger players that have already proven themselves at this level and can be a part of the core moving forward rather than older vets signed to 1 year deals to serve as band aids.

I agree. Some of those top guys probably won't even hit FA and others are going to be getting top $. Chark is a really nice option at I think a reasonable price.

PFF ranking and thoughts on chark

51. WR D.J. CHARK JR., JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Chark’s relationship with new head coach Urban Meyer didn’t get off to the best start, as Meyer said he was a "big guy that played little.” In a wide receiver room devoid of top-end talent, Chark was supposed to be that guy. Unfortunately, an ankle injury sustained in Week 4 knocked him out for the remainder of what has been quite the eventful season in Jacksonville. Chark may look to depart for greener pastures, and there should be a handful of teams interested in adding a 6-foot-4 wide receiver with 4.3-second speed.

Strengths:
-Speed
-Size
-Ball skills and body control

Weaknesses:
-Physicality running routes
-Feel for zone coverage
-Contested catches

Scheme Fit/Role:
DEEP THREAT/NO. 3 RECEIVER: Chark has the speed to burn and an excellent frame to give defensive backs all kinds of problems at the catch point or if he can gain any separation in his route. He has the speed to run away from defenders after the catch but struggles to set up corners or win against physicality. His speed should always be valuable and a team like New Orleans could use that threat.

Recent Injury History:
Chark has had a pretty extensive injury history including missing almost all of the 2021 season with an ankle injury. He has a slight frame and has shown a concerning level of durability.

Contract Projection: Three years, $40 million ($13.33M per year, $22.5 million total guaranteed)

Bottom Line:
Injuries will scare teams off Chark as will the weaknesses in his game, but he has game-changing speed and is a little more than just a one-trick pony on the deep ball, and that always has a place in an NFL offense. He will be a luxury pick for a team that already has a solid receiving corp

interesting to note that Minshew ended up starting 12 games for the injured Foles in 2019 the year that Chark had over 1000 yards receiving

Would like to get this dude

At this point he may well be the best remaining option...

Lots of love for the dude here but if he is injured all the time people soon would argue how obviously bad of a pickup he was if that continues.

That's very true and fair. But at this point they are fast running out of options and they need to add a good veteran.

Going to the Lions on a 1 year deal for $10 million.
