time2rock
Saints interview former Eagles coach Doug Pederson for open job, following Sean Payton's exit New Orleans has interviewed the former Philly coach and Super Bowl champion By Jordan Dajani The New Orleans Saints were a bit late to the party, as they hopped on an already-spinning coaching carousel when Sean Payton revealed he was stepping away. Still, this front office hasn't wasted any time scheduling interviews, and a former Super Bowl-winning head coach is in the mix. According to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, the Saints interviewed former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson on Sunday. Pederson took a year off in 2021, but is ready to throw his hat back into the ring. He's been a popular coaching candidate this offseason, as Pederson reportedly interviewed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos. Pederson won Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots a few years ago, and did so with a backup quarterback in Nick Foles. It was a night that quickly went down in Philadelphia sports lore, as there's already a statue of Pederson and Foles dialing up the "Philly Special." In five seasons with the Eagles, Pederson went 42-37-1 with a 4-2 record in the postseason. He was fired last January. Pederson has a reputation for getting the most out of his quarterbacks, which is something that could be attractive to the Saints, as they are going through a bit of an identity change. Taysom Hill is still under contract, but Jameis Winston no longer is. Who is going to be the starting signal-caller for New Orleans in 2022? Along with Pederson, other reported candidates for the Saints job include Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, current Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/saints-interview-former-eagles-coach-doug-pederson-for-open-job-following-sean-paytons-exit/
UK_EaglesFan89
I think that could be a pretty good match for both sides actually. Doug is a good HC and with a good defense they could really focus on offense.
