Only time for one more possession each team. You got the ball midway inside your side of the field. You think to yourself ‘I’d let the other team have the ball right here if they’d agree to let me have a free FG attempt from a negotiated distance. They are down six.’ Would it be illegal under the rules to propose this out loud to the opposing coach? If no, would they both be permitted to mutually waive the clock rules and play only one more possession each?

I can’t say I’m aware of a specific rule that prohibits direct communication between coaches during the game, but I would imagine it’s not allowed if I had to take an educated guess.
