EricAllenPick6
Quote Who knows when it began. Somewhere along the lines, we just stopped believing things that we were told by the Philadelphia Eagles brass. Let’s take some inventory. We’ve heard it mentioned on more than one occasion that chairman/CEO Jeffrey Lurie desires that his leadership structure continues to build around QB1 Jalen Hurts. We’ve heard the vice president/GM, Howie Roseman, and head coach Nick Sirianni state publicly that Jalen is this team’s starting quarterback… Period… Point-blank… End of sentence. Why is it we don’t believe them then? Here’s what most of us believe to be true. The Eagles are satisfied with where Jalen Hurts is… for now. We believe that, while looking around free agency’s landscape and what will be available in the NFL Draft in terms of quarterback prospects, the best course of action is to stick with Number 1. We also believe that this team won’t hesitate to pull the trigger if something better becomes available. Perhaps we can ease off the gas pedal of that bandwagon some now. Eagles GM Howie Roseman backs Jalen Hurts publicly and emphatically, again. Philly’s brass is in Indianapolis at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. On March’s first Wednesday, both Howie and Nick were made available to the media for the first time since their season-ending press conference back in January. You had to know some of the questions they’d be asked before they were uttered. As you might expect, the quarterback position was a topic of discussion. As you might imagine, Howie Roseman was asked about Deshaun Watson. His response? "We have Jalen Hurts”. There it is again, the same question and answer. Here’s more from Philly’s head coach: As you watch more and more, and you think about it more and more, you’re pleased with the progression Jalen has made,” said Sirianni of Hurts’ 2021 season. "I think that’s common of who Jalen Hurts is as a player and as a quarterback that he continues to get better. Whether that’s from Alabama to Oklahoma or Oklahoma to his first year in the NFL. Russell Wilson’s on record. He has a no-trade clause and recently stated that he wants to remain on the west coast. No one seems to be pumped about the quarterbacks in this draft class. TRENDING Potential cap casualties Eagles can target at EDGE Read now >> When it’s all said and done and when the dust clears and smoke settles, we keep arriving at the same spot. Unless something drastically changes, it looks like Jalen Hurts will again be the Eagles quarterback for the 2022-2023 NFL season. Procus
1. This is not a professional article - it's written by a fan in a fan based publication. There is no material here that you can't find in a more reputable publication 2. The headline is absolutely misleading and not what Howie said at all. Nothing to see here folks. I have been posting less and less from Knox for those very reasons.
