I thought Howie was fully supporting Hurts and building around him...which is it?

First off you would have to assume that Watson would be willing to come here and waive his NTC something he’s already allegedly refused to do. Then you have to assume the Eagles will outbid other teams and that’s something they haven’t done either. You also have to expect them to redo his contract and that something salary wise they can’t accomplish easily at the moment. In the end if they get him he’s definitely an upgrade, but I still worry about the overall cost, because frankly he’s not enough to get them over the hump.

This is why I’m OUT on him. We need to rebuild the defense, add another legit WR, rebuild the defense, get a plan for the heir to Kelce, rebuild the defense, get some breathing room under the salary cap and rebuild the defense.

I don’t want to spend all the draft capital accumulated just to blow it on a single player that completely wrecks the cap situation all over again…

Why must we suffer for Lowie's sins

We might suffer more if they don’t get Watson,   because that’ll mean both him and Wilson shot down the Gold Standard, QB Factory.
They could draft a QB early or something worse, like offering Douglas and the Jets ridiculous draft picks for Zach Wilson if they really wanted him last season.
Missing out on two very good QB’s within a week may send Lowie over the edge.

The Eagles were never truly in on Watson. Howie did his research, as he should when a QB of that ability becomes available, but he doesn’t make sense for a lot of reasons.

I’m personally really glad he won’t be an Eagle. Criminal case or not.

I would have thought the Kelce and Reddick contracts would have put the final nail in the Watson to Philly saga, we'd have struggled to fit him under the cap before, we definitely can't now.

As if cap ever was an issue.

Look at one of the front runners for him now: The Saints! And you think Roseman can‘t make it work now? 😂

I think we'd more likely end up with Kyler Murray than Watson. With something silly like we send Hurts, two firsts and a third to Arizona for Murray. Then they use our picks and Hurts to get Watson for themselves.

They took a risk with Vick but he'd been served for his crime so it was a softer landing then Watson.

Yeah I don’t know if Watson not being punished matters. Do you see how teams are pandering toWatson right now? Owner are flying out to him to basically grovel at his feet to be on their teams. Professional recruitment going on for this dude right now.

No. Just no.

So did they meet yet?

Report on WIP said the Panthers are willing to give up 3 first plus two pro bowl level young players for Watson and he has apparently waived his NTC for them.

What you don’t want a more talented Hurts with a bigger ego, injury problems, and who wants to be paid like he’s the best? 😂

If it’s today it’ll probably be later, he has to do his court stuff right now

The Saints have easier contracts to get rid of to clear their cap space, they don't have huge player salaries salami sliced into bonuses until the year 2028 that all accelerates into this year if they get rid like we do, it's like we have this argument every close season, 'you think Howie can't manipulate the cap?'  no, not any more, we've already got most of our expensive players being paid more in bonuses a year than salary.

He'd waive his NTC to go to Cleveland?  F that guy.

On the other hand looking forward to the Progressive ad where Watson kicks Baker Mayfield out of his house.

Heard on the radio the Eagles basically have only three contracts they can squeeze money out of and that’s Slay, Johnson (again), and Hargrave, cause Howie has already squeezed as much out of that stone as he could.

Yep, that is why Fletcher Cox is untradeable.

The Cox contract is basically a nightmare. People are acting like a 12 mil cap hit isn’t that big of a deal, and that’s hoping he gets traded after June 1st. The Eagles have zero cap flexibility, because they were chasing a championship between 2017-2019. They can’t even dump most of these guys for picks either because they’re cap hits are actually worse than their salaries, and that’s not even getting into the Howie dummy year specials.

Cox contract is the ultimate dummy  year special.

He has cap hits of 1.1 and 1.5 million the next two years.  Because of all the dummy year pro rated signing bonus nonsense, dead cap would be 40.9 million if we trade him before June 1st.

Not even plausible. This team has a lot of issues and it’s going to take time before they pull themselves out of their own mess. Howie should be on notice. Maybe that’s why he hasn’t been extended yet.

As long as he doesn't come here, I could care less where he plays. If Howie Trades 3 First Round Picks plus others and players for this Guy he should be fired on the spot. Good thing the guy doesn't want to come here anyway.

"Eagles front runners to land Jalen Ramsey.”

”Eagles with Douglas connection in the drivers seat for Jamal Adams.”

”Eagles to land Yannick.”

” Eagles pushing to get Wilson.”
"Will the Eagles make a move for Rodgers?”

”Watson to waive his NTC for the Eagles!”

Always the clickbait and never the team.

All these reporters keep naming teams...but not the Eagles.
