I'd hazard a guess it's not Clowney.

There’s a report out that Clowney wants to play for the Eagles. Do you think it’s Adams then?

Anyone see Baldi’s tweet? I wonder who he could be talking about.

Offensive guard?  Devonte Freeman?  But notice he says "could" in the middle of this.

Hopefully a Guard.

I was thinking possibly Yannik Ngakoue. The situation in Jacksonville is beyond repair and he might go for less than market value.

'21 draft picks are deflating in value by the day.

I "could” win the lottery tomorrow but probably not.

The latest rumour I saw was today and apparently he wants to play for phily or at least likes the idea of it

Then he probably shouldn't have laid a cheap shot on Wentz and trashed the fanbase. Screw him.

I don't think it's any big name if I'm honest.

Baldy suggests it is a big name - "could get a lot better".

I'm thinking Ngakoue makes the most sense when you think about availability and what the Eagles value. Sounds like it's just rumours at the moment, but if we did somehow land Yannick, suddenly this D has top 5 potential.

Baldy is perhaps try to drum up some fan interest in what's been a quieter than usual off season? Let's not necessarily believe what he says.

Don't get me wrong, you are right to have a healthy dose of skepticism about anything actually happening.

But I do think it will be at least whispers of something fairly big. My guess is that the Eagles have had renewed dialogue with either Clowney's agent or the Jags about Yannick.

Probably nothing happens though.

IF there’s something to it I actually think it could be two moves. I think they sign Clowney and put a package deal together to get Adams. The Eagles have some pieces Joe Douglas likes so they might not have to break the draftpick bank in order to get it done. Just my opinion.

You always need to add that disclaimer. Deals can fall apart.

He's talking about bringing back future HOF LB Jamar Chaney to sure up the defense.

Sign and trade Clowney to the jets for Adams.

For sure, or there isn't a deal just talk about a possibility.

There is some chatter about it right now. There is an article talking about Everton Griffin, too.

It sure looks like they’re adding a pash rusher.

When it comes to the Eagles you can never be sure either way. The way this is all worded though "a lot better” to me has me thinking it’s either one big move or a compound of moves. It could be the names we hear, but it could be someone we haven’t heard at all. It also could be nothing unfortunately, because we have seen time and time again if you add Eagles to your tweet or message then you get click bait.

Two moves? Dude that's way too optimistic. If I had to guess I'd say its Warford and to me that isn't even that big a deal really.

It is my opinion sure, but if the Eagles sign Clowney that makes Barnett and his 10mil expendable. If they could package Barnett with a pick then I think they could get Adams. It’s probably too much, but if you can get Clowney for around 11mil then they’re basically paying Barnett 10mil to be a rotational player at that point. If they can clear that money and pick up an all pro safety then why not? Again just my opinion.

Now we are talking.

But what do you then do next year? I mean presumably it'll still take at least a first plus Barnett to get Adams? So what do they do in a year when Clowney also walks? And with the cap situation how do the give Adams a long term deal? I like your thinking I'm just not sure how it all fits.

Yeah if there is a big move I am convinced it's going to be a pass rusher.

Looking at who is available and considering how the Eagles value different positions, a pass rusher just makes the most sense.

1) Jamal Adams - I'm not buying it. Sounds like the Jets don't want to trade and if they do I just can't see the Eagles giving up what will probably be a first rounder plus for a safety, especially one who will be costly as well.

2) A Guard. A replacement level guard would not be a big move. Brooks is still the clear starter when he's healthy, so I don't see them making a big splash for one year.

3) Clowney - I doubt this is the move, just because I don't see the Eagles offering him more than around £10 million and reportedly he had much more than that on the table from the Seahawks. It could happen though, simply because he may want to play with a dominant set of DTs which will often collapse the pocket/stop a QB stepping up.

4) Ngakoue. This is the dream move and makes sense from a fit perspective. I think the Eagles would happily give up a first plus change for him and he wants to leave and be an Eagle. But I'm just not sure how they fit him under the cap. I think Barnett would have to be included in a trade and that would be a shame and also be selling low.

5) Everson Griffen. The more I think about it, I think this makes the most sense. Particularly if he's willing to take a 6/7 million one year contract. Good DE, probably past his best, but could be our new Chris Long to use as a rotational DE and specialist 3rd down pass rusher.
