huge upgrade for the defense

I assume he’s not an every down DE.

Apparently he's well acquainted w our friends up I-95

Great signing, the guy is a finisher as a pass rusher not just a pressure guy.

And when you consider his age and AAV, way to go Howie.

This is what concerns me.  I hope Gannnon adjust the defense to this guy's strengths.

Yup concerning that Reddick fit best in two blitz heavy schemes where he was asked to blitz almost every down as an extra blitzer, to a defense last year where Gannon rarely blitzed.

If Gannon plans on using him at the SAM hybrid role I hope he blitzes him more than drops him in coverage or i fear he'll disappoint.

I think to give Gannon some credit and to defend him... He really didn't have the personnel to blitz often. You can't just blitz for the sake of it because if you don't have the assets you're going to kill yourself.

Good signing. Typical of Howie, and fills a role of need.

I just hope Howie doesn't sign defensive free agents and not take advantage of drafting defense with this class and put heavy focus on offense in the draft.

PFF must hate him then.

Love the move. Probably gets moved around some. He will rush from DE or the Joker. Temple product coming home. Adds some needed pass rush to Gannon’s vanilla defense.

really wish we use him the way the Rams used Von Miller

He has a blitzer now so will be telling.

We will see how he’s used, but my guess he’s going to be moved on both sides of the line and used as the joker blitz.

Was top of my list for defense. Very good signing and in grand scheme not as expensive as it could have been

It's an interesting signing for sure. On the one hand they'd picked up a really good and productive player. Someone who gets to the QB and can have a real impact. But it doesn't feel a natural fit in this defense. I know Gannon is not Schwartz and that he uses a SAM to rush the QB but how much is Reddick going to be on the field? On the one hand the contract suggests a lot but he's not a DE...

What it does show is their commitment and buy in to Gannon.

I think he starts at LB with that contract, unless they ask him to bulk up and play DE full time (which seems counterintuitive).

Hopefully the Eagles implement Reddick into their defense better than they did Mychal Kendricks when he started for us. Kendricks was known as a blitzing LB coming out of college but we never really took full advantage of his skillset. He basically was made a starting LB.

It's still crazy we passed on both Bobby Wagner and Lavonte David at the spot we drafted Kendricks, but at least it wasn't a Jalen Reagor level miss.

He's excited

Not that it really matters, but I'm curious if Haason tries to go with jersey #7 he wore at Temple, or sticks with the #43 he's had in the NFL with the current rules allowing players more freedom with jersey numbers?

QB Reid Sinnett currently wears #7, but he's the 3rd string QB and no lock to make the final roster depending on how the Eagles address the QB position. #43 is not currently worn by an Eagle.

Nice player but I don’t see the fit. He’s a tweener. I see him more as a 3-4 pass rushing OLB.

Exactly there's no real excuse for him now. And for the money they are paying him he needs to be on the field a lot.

I feel he will play a lot. I don’t truly feel we’ve seen Gannon’s defense yet. This guy despite what we saw last year seems pretty well regarded among the NFL guys, there must be a reason. He now has one hell of a chess piece to play with. We shall see…

Great signing...but it will all be moot if we don't get safety help and another LB

A friend just told me Myles Jack was released

YES PLS

I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. On the one hand there's no doubt Reddick is a good player with production. And the contract is not a bad contract for this team either. But he's also not necessarily what this team needed and at this point (very very very early days) they are really no better with a lot of the top players off the board.
