So if that was the goal when you people or whoever decided to make it illegal, I would say that’s enough of that So then you are against the govt legalizing it to create jobs? 4 minutes ago, mr_hunt said: in that case....legalize!!! I suppose a state could ban it too, but I wouldn’t promote that myself If you think I’m going to sit and happily go along with the next president running a 50 state national campaign on a platform of creating jobs and stimulating the economy through Prostitution, lmao no

There’s a lot of people that don’t want that in their neighborhood in any form whatsoever, regulated, in a basement, nothing… The idea that it’s ‘exploitation’ is a myth. Who is exploited? The woman? The man? Men could be tempted to bankrupt themselves in a brothel. Is that not exploitation? I say no. Anyone voluntarily engaging is not being exploited, which is to say nothing about any other argument about prostitution. The concerns for exploitation aren't for the women entering the profession willingly. It's for underaged/at risk/immigrant etc people being coerced into it. Which unfortunately is 100% a problem and Fing horrible to see. The bigger question is however, does cracking down on prostitution actually reduce the risk of that exploitation? And is punishing consenting adult women to try and prevent that exploitation fair/the role of the government/police?

March 15, 20223 yr Just now, paco said: Problem is, that's running under the assumption that porn is moral. We don't make things that are immoral (in your opinion) illegal since morality is subjective. Two adults making a porno or engaging in sex for money doesn't impact the rights or freedoms of anyone else. By your logic, we should make alcohol and cigarettes illegal. Spoiler alert -- we gave into Puritanical nonsense and banned alcohol, and it was so stupid we had to undo it. If you don't want your kids exposed to porn/prostitution/drugs/etc. then do your job as a parent and install your sense of morality into them.

My wife and I will teach her not to prostitute herself, much like I'll teach my kids not to become raging alcoholics despite the fact that alcohol is legal.

Before raising these concerns, did you take a moment to consider the actual circumstances that cause these immigrants to be allegedly coerced? And then did you think about whether that sub category of worker would be more numerous before or after legalization?

Strip clubs are essentially the same thing, and now thanks to the internet, apps like OnlyFans allow stripping from their own homes. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, much like the family guy meme, unless you want to make porn illegal, she will already be raised in a world where selling her body is legitimized.

March 15, 20223 yr Whether something is legitimate or not is not exclusively determined by government anyway, particularly in this day and age where a lawyer can ask what the definition of is is with a straight face
