I don't know if this is officially a spinoff of The Wire but it looks like Sgt Landsman (in a Major's uniform) is in the trailer 

Hopefully it doesn't go too woke..... 

The thing that made The Wire one of the best TV shows of all time was that it struck a balance and showed the good/bad of every institution 

I just realized it's not a spinoff..... Landsman has a different name 

I guess this is based on real people 

 

Marlo's a cop in this one so, yeah, definitely not a spin-off.  Looks pretty good though.  I'll definitely check it out.

Initial reviews have been pretty positive 

First episode was really good.  Infuriating to see how the bad cops treated people, but I think that's part of the point.

Off to a good start. I've been meaning to go back and watch the wire again. I don't think I ever saw all of season 2.

I was late to the party on it. I think I watched season 4 (or whichever season was about the schools) first then tried to go back and watch the others. It was not smart on my part. I watched the entire thing out of order.

dude, i almost envy you for still having the joy of watching this series evolve for the first time. set some time for yourself and enjoy. 

The Wire is almost better the second time you watch it (Especially Season 1) 

There are so many nuances and breadcrumbs that you miss the first time around.

Still really good after 3 episodes, but it doesn’t get any less infuriating.
