ESP loves this guy so I'm going to say the Eagles should probably avoid him.

😊

I do like Wilson and Olave more than the other WRs ranked atop this class (WIlliams, Burks, London, etc.), but I would rather draft defense if the boards shakes out favorably on Thursday (hoping for DL ... preferably an edge rusher ... and CB).  After the top 2 aforementioned WRs that I like, Pickens would likely be my next choice ... would hope to grab him in the 2nd (possibly with a small trade up).

BWF just did their first round mock draft and they had us getting Wilson and then Johnson. I think that would be an incredible first round.

I would not be disappointed if we ended Thursday having made those 2 selections.  I would then hope that somehow Booth falls a bit (possibly related to the sports hernia surgery he had recently) and is not taken in round 1.  If he is not taken in the first 6 picks on day 2, maybe we can swing a deal with Chicago to move up to 39 using pick 51 and 101 (the 3rd round comp pick we picked up from NO) to get him.

I'm going to be disappointed in most scenarios.  I think the concept of Howie playing this straight and the Eagles improving because they outdrafted other teams in some long term game is a plan that will obviously fail in a slow and boring fashion.

I’d have to say the odds of you being right are pretty good.  Every year I am full of optimism that this will finally be the year he knocks it out of the park only to be let down once again and feel foolish to think there may have actually been a chance.  I’m fairly sure that is how this week will end … and pretty sure I’ll start the 2023 draft process with the same level of unwarranted optimism.

Yeah the likely outcome is a rotational DE who shows a little something in only a moderate amount of snaps and a decent CB who is solid but not an All Pro. Those are possibly the right moves but it doesn't really get the team anywhere interesting.

You'd think the law of averages would have us lucking into at least one pro bowl level talent at DE, WR, and CB in the 12 years since Howie became GM and began overseeing the draft.  Crazy.

There is always a prospect these ranking sites are off on. I understand people thoughts though, it is "what have you done for me lately?" I take Pickens 10 out of 10 times over Drake London and Watson. We can revisit this conversation a year from now to see how these rankings look

Same, better tools and more explosive as an athlete.
