Lurie said he wanted to wait for the NFL to allow alternate helmets so they could match and do the look right. Working with Nike on getting the color right from the 80s/90s jerseys.

March 30, 20223 yr I can’t believe Nike can’t get this done in a year. Two year process seems really slow. But I don’t have that nostalgia, so not too keen on kelly green. All-black alternates with black helmets sounds pretty cool though.

Not everyone likes the Kelly green. I still won't buy it unless they bring back the flying eagle logo, the shade of green I don't care about.

March 30, 20223 yr Eagles should bring back the 1974-'83 jerseys (that period includes the Super Bowl XV season in 1980) and ALSO bring back the white helmet-green jersey combo used when Leonard Tose first had the Eagles from 1969-'73.

Lurie wanted to all along whenever he could also do the helmet, rather than have the current Midnight green helmet which would look dumb. He wanted to honor it and do the full look. The league only just voted on it, and Nike can't do it this season. So Lurie is taking advantage of the new rule to get a black helmet to go with the black uniforms this season, and use the kelly green in 2023.

I'm not going to say it.... For me, Midnight green looks great and it's easy on the eyes. Kelly green- not so much. For nostalgia and an alt color, sure, I'm all for it.
March 30, 20223 yr A white helmet with green wings and black outlines would be better than a black helmet, IMO.
