Camp body. Move along. Nothing to see here.

:showoff:

He's been out of football for several years. I doubt they envision someone like him coming in to help the offense. But maybe they see him as a ST project --- possibly to compete as a return specialist?

Well I guess that now rules drafting a WR. [/TATE]

Maybe he can return punts...very quickly

That’s what I’m wondering as well … if this isn’t an attempt to see what he can contribute more as a returner than receiver.

I agree. Our return game is atrocious as it stands today. I definitely wanna see us address it this off-season whether it be a WR, RB or DB drafted more for their return skills and potential at their core position or a FA. In the draft I’d be looking hard at Bo Melton, Velus Jones, etc.

Just in the 1st round, those picks are needed to draft a QB, and a DT or Edge Rusher, lol, ugh.

Howie dumpster diving again..

And not a bad gamble.  He's likely getting the league minimum and if he can prove himself it pays off big.

True, no cap loss. Even more reason to not be bothered by these no risk gambles.

lol - teams add camp bodies and take chances on players all the time on one-year deals. Most of the time it doesn't amount to anything. It could pay off big, but it is far more likely this signing means absolutely nothing.

His speed and past experience as a WR would give him a shot as a RS.  I think they will address this area in the draft too.  WR and DB with return ability will get extra consideration.

Standard UDFA contract

I kind of like this though. I mean there's nothing to lose and the chances are he's not going to make the roster but hey let's see.

Need fast guys for PR/KR.

Need to keep Reagor off the field.

According to reports the Eagles we’re "heavily involved” with signing Gilmore, but apparently lost out again. At some point does the almost signings ever count against Howie or is this all nothing more than clickbait articles because these writers know Eagles fans can really boost their crappy article numbers?

So another receiver for hurts to terribly under throw ? Oh that’ll be good to watch if he makes the team.

Guessing that in most of the cases where these players we were reportedly "in" on who chose to sign elsewhere, we didn't offer as much as those teams.  We are limited with what we can do due to the cap situation (unless we structure deals where there is minimal cap hit in 2022 but then balloons in future years and also dummy years added on the back end to spread out the prorated bonus, which is a strategy that stinks for future caps and would have most grumbling about).

I personally am tired of having to add overpriced aging vets to fill holes.  If we were a starting CB away from being legitimately competitive then OK sure, but we are much further away than that, so I'm happy we didn't land him.  Howie just needs to (1) prioritize CB next week and (2) hit on who he takes.

Yeah not getting Gilmore was good but Howie's offseason efforts seem very confused.
