Posted May 12, 20205 yr I read that the Eagles are looking for a RB, just in case they don't have a clue, Johnathan Williams is their man.

The only other options are the available FA's and I've review all of them, Wiliams looked to be the best option. There will be cuts if we have a season, but currently, Williams is your man at this point in time from what I've seen, he's a good back.

I think there are a few better options than Williams. He's an interesting option given his talent.

Freeman has injury concerns and Hyde has had several starting roles and never amounted to much, besides, I liked what I saw from Williams more so than those two, he's a good open field runner with decent power for a 217lb back. basically he's an injury free Freeman.

May 14, 20205 yr Even if you don't like Freeman with his injury history, I would much rather have Carlos Hyde as the complementary back to Sanders and Scott. He has a power back skillset with good receiving ability out of the backfield. That will keep defenses honest instead of thinking the Eagles are going to have a power running play because Hyde is on the field. LeSean McCoy could technically be useful but his skillset more or less duplicates what the Eagles have rather than complement it. Bringing him back would be more of a sentimental move more than anything else but I'd still take him over Williams. Hyde > McCoy > Freeman > Williams

May 23, 20205 yr Unfortunately we are starting to run out of options so Williams starts to look more appealing.
May 23, 20205 yr https://www.nfl.com/news/devonta-freeman-willing-to-sit-out-2020-season-over-contract-desires Apparently the Seahawks offered Freeman the same offer they gave Carlos Hyde and he said it wasn't enough. It's probably safe to say that we can cross him off the Eagles list after it was reported the Eagles wanted Hyde for less than $4 million/year. Williams is among the best options left, and is younger than LeSean McCoy, so I can see the argument for him at this juncture, with Hyde and Freeman off the table. There aren't many great veteran options remaining. Lamar Miller is just a name at this point and has injury issues of his own. Maybe the Eagles give Jay Ajayi the "Jordan Matthews treatment" and bring him in for his third stint with the team, trying to recapture the old magic? Injuries aside, he's actually only 26!

Suddenly Williams looks an more enticing option I guess. I'd much prefer him over Corey let's say that.

May 26, 20205 yr We have Sanders, Scott and Clement, see if Warren or Killins pan out and close the book, they've got as much shot at making a difference on the field as Jonathan Williams.

Hey I’m not saying I don’t think they should add a RB, I’m just saying I have ZERO interest in Williams. If the options are to stick with what we have, or sign him, I’m sticking with what we have.

Clement was unproven when he was picked up as an UDFA and had a great season. So why can't either of the 2 we have now not do that? Duce has proven to get the most out of his guys. So why deny a chance to a young guy that duce can get the most out of that cost basically nothing, to sign a guy 4 years in the league and has done really nothing?
May 27, 20205 yr We are all talking about the same Jonathan Williams right? The guy drafted in 2016, who has only played 23 games in 4 years? Who has been on three different teams in 4 years, and if anyone actually signs him will be on team #4 in 5 years? Yeah, hard pass.
