time2rock Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 REPORT: FORMER EAGLES CB SIGNS WITH AFC TEAM By Victor Williams April 13, 2022 0 The Eagles will need a new CB2 in 2022. First reported by Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle, CB Steven Nelson has agreed to a two-year deal worth $10M. Nelson signed with the Eagles last offseason on a one-year deal and was a solid starter across from Darius Slay. He started in every game, excluding the meaningless Dallas finale, recording 50 tackles, seven passes defended and one interception. Aside from Slay, the Eagles don’t have much proven talent on the roster at outside corner: Tay Gowan Craig James Mac McCain Zech McPhearson Josiah Scott Andre Chachere Kary Vincent Jr. With two first-round picks in the upcoming draft, the team could look to target Sauce Gardner or Derek Stingley Jr. — who both project to be Day-1 starters in the NFL. https://thelibertyline.com/2022/04/13/eagles-steven-nelson-texans/ 1
time2rock Posted April 14, 2022 Author Posted April 14, 2022 I think my first preference is to have either Sauce or Stingley fall within range of making a slight jump up to grab and hope a decent edge rusher is there at 18. Or maybe someone like Thibodeaux or Johnson fall to 16 and we make another small move up. If not then hopefully can trade back with 18 … pick late 1st or early 2nd and target someone like Ojabo or Mafe and grab an extra day 2 pick in the process. Bonitto or Sanders would probably work too as day 2 targets (last 2nd/early 3rd). Alternately, maybe we make a small move up from 15 for an edge rusher and then take Booth with 18.
