Three buildings caught fire after police had a confrontation with a man at an Eagleville, Pennsylvania, home on Thursday. Authorities provided a briefing around 3 p.m. Thursday with the latest details.

Multiple Montgomery County homes went up in flames Thursday afternoon in an explosive fire that happened after police responded to a homeowner threatening a code enforcement officer with a gun.

Lower Providence Township Chief of Police Mike Jackson said that a little before 1 p.m., a Lower Providence code enforcement officer arrived to a home along Cardin Place in Eagleville for a follow-up inspection. The homeowner took out a gun, but the officer was able to flee and call police, Jackson said.

Police responded to the home and engaged with the man at the front of the house, but he went back inside and a short time later, there were "multiple loud explosions” followed by a fire, Jackson said.

  • The 55 corporations that paid no federal corporate income tax in 2020 spent nearly $450 million on lobbying and campaign contributions over the last three election cycles. This total includes $408 million in lobbying and $42 million in campaign contributions.
  • FedEx spent the most of any company ($71 million) followed by Charter Communications ($64 million), American Electric Power ($42 million), Duke Energy ($37 million) and Textron ($22 million).
  • On average each year, these companies together have sent 526 lobbyists to influence the federal government.
  • The companies contributed $4 million to the four national party committees and another $650,000 to the Senate Leadership Fund, a Republican super PAC.
  • Of the top 25 recipients of money from the corporations that paid zero in taxes in Congress, 20 are Republicans. Each of these recipients voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which lowered the corporate tax rate.
  • Many of the companies also received huge rebates from the federal government in 2020. Four of the top 10 political spenders in 2020 could use their leftover rebate money to cover political spending costs for at least the next half century.

When Jeff Bezos was worth $18 billion in 2011, he owed nothing in federal income taxes. That same year he also received a $4,000 child tax credit, according to Business Insider, per ProPublica.

Found interesting that a gasoline-powered car is getting swallowed by a new all electric supercar and they have only produced a few dozen so far.

Bugatti Merges with Croatian EV Hypercar Startup Rimac, Becoming Bugatti-Rimac

Croatian EV startup Rimac has taken control of Bugatti, with two all-new Bugatti models engineered by Rimac set to appear by 2030. A 2000-hp hybrid hypercar with a naturally aspirated combustion engine comes first, followed by Bugatti's first full EV.

Bugatti will merge with Rimac's hypercar business, which makes the Nevera (pictured above), to create a new company, Bugatti-Rimac. The two brands' cars will continue to be developed and badged separately. Rimac will hold a 55 percent stake in the new entity, which will begin to trade in the current quarter. Porsche, which has been given responsibility for Bugatti by their joint parent Volkswagen, will hold the remainder.

First ever wild albino chimpanzee is spotted in Uganda - shortly before it was killed by its pack

  • The first wild albino chimpanzee was observed at a reservation in Uganda
  • Scientists say the chimp was no more than 19 days old when they spotted it
  • Just four days after the initial sighting, the infant albino was brutally killed
  • by its own pack that ripped off its limbs and gnawed at its head until it died
  • Scientists believe the different color of the infant is what caused the attack
