EAGLES’ DEFENSIVE END ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM NFL

April 21, 2022

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Cameron Malveaux announced earlier today that he would be retiring after five seasons in the NFL.

Malveaux was signed by the Miami Dolphins in 2017 as a UDFA and joined the Eagles’ practice squad in September following a short stint with the Cleveland Browns.

Although he didn’t see the field much, Malveaux played during their final three games of the regular season, recording three tackles and two quarterback hits.

Following the season, Philly signed him to a reserve/future contract for the 2022/2023 season. It’s unlikely he would’ve seen much playing time this season, but it’s still unfortunate to see a player walk away from the game so young.

For the rest of the team, they will begin their off-season workouts next week on April 25th.
