The only experience that I have is that we tried to rent some last summer, and every single one of them was in the shop getting repaired.  I don't know what that says about their performance or reliability. I was looking forward to giving one a try though.

My sister and brother in law just got a pair.  They got them so they can drive to the cape may ferry, take the ferry, and then e-bike to breweries. I'm seeing them this Sunday and ask how they like them.

I wouldn't know. The point is that I think red is pretty visible but I'm not sure about it.

They seem fun and I can see where you want to ride them everywhere.  I made the mistake of talking to my wife about it.  It seems like I may need to buy a bike shed and another ebike for her along with one I'm considering.

I got this one, it's got a beefed up motor.  It does 35 mph.  It's sweet.  Like $1000 which is not bad for how fast it goes.  I did 19 miles and still had a charge.

depends on where you live. I had a 2ish mile bike ride to/from work on summer break in Key West 2004. Overnight grocery stocking job, so it was a cool 85° at 1:30 in the morning heading to work, and a beautiful 98° when my shift ended at 11am.
