Posted May 1, 20223 yr Wouldn't mind seeing him join the birds to backup hurts and if things start to go bad with Hurts then bring in Nick. This offense is probably better all around than the one that won the SB with Nick heading it up. Our D that game wasn't any special that day. Nick can be pretty good for a run with the weapons we have on offense. I wan't hurts to do well but if things are not trending up at least nick gives us a chance to turn things around. I care more about this year than next or the year after.

Outside of sentimentality for the SB year, what exactly has Foles shown recently that would make him a better backup than Minshew and unless you could get a bunch for Minshew in trade, why bother?

He plays well for the eagles when given the chance. Brought home the SB in a backup role and was one alshon drop away from returning to the NFC championship game the next year in a backup role. This was just a few years ago and he hasn't played much since and was on crap teams since he left the birds. Who do you want down the stretch in the playoffs if hurts goes down? I would take Foles all day over Minshew, Strong or any other backup in the league. Not sure why he does well in Philly but he does.

Dude took it to the SB and won with it. He’s the only quarterback in the NFL that Chip Kelly had success using it. He actually could kill with these weapons too.
May 1, 20223 yr Foles is an aging journeyman who caught lightning in a bottle in 2017. The Bears couldn’t even trade him for a 7th this weekend so they released him. His skill set wouldn’t remotely translate to the offense the current Eagles run. It’s time to let go.

May 1, 20223 yr Just now, downundermike said: Why is that ?? Because he’s clearly one of the most accurate quarterbacks and deep ball passers in Eagles history. See that’s how you answer a question. Learn it.
May 1, 20223 yr Bring him in on a 1 day contract. Let him retire as an Eagle. I think they owe him that.

He's in a lot of record books with us for having a meh career Need to move away from the run first offense anyway. We have weapons to throw to now

Go look at his win loss record. Go look at his playoff record. So to be clear Hurts doesn’t prevent receivers from coming to the Eagles? So you’re not to be confused I’m referring to Nick’s Eagles numbers. Here he’s on another level. I’ll also add if you don’t think that there is a huge difference between Brown and Reagor the. I can’t help you.

Foles should head to Jacksonville to back up and mentor Trevor Lawrence and work with Doug again. It's a great fit for everyone.

You show your bs bias. Ironically your comments are implying that a quarterback effects if a receiver would or wouldn’t want to play with a particular quarterback, but you don’t make that argument according to you. 🙄

As proven last year when our 1 read and run QB bailed clean pockets and missed wide open receivers all year.

(Could've been more had he not been pulled.) A consecutive completion record in a game (since broken I believe)? And, I'll firmly believe this until the day I die, he would've won a second Super Bowl had not Jeffery dropped that ball. Hall of Famer in my book... Bring him back!!

He’s been buried on the bench and Chicago is eating millions in dead money to clear his roster spot. I love the guy for what he did here but that was a moment in time.

He's my Hall of Famer though, and probably a bunch of other Philadelphians' too. He'd be an asset to this team one way or another, and isn't that what's important?

He’s a much better better option than Baker Mayfield, for example, for teams looking to add a veteran. He’d be a great fit in Jacksonville and maybe in Cleveland, Seattle or Pittsburgh. While I don’t think he fits what the Eagles are doing now I absolutely respect and appreciate what he did here.

The other teams he was on were dumpster fires outside of the cheifs where he won when called upon. I am pretty sure any other team when facing the eagles would rather see Minshew/Strong than Foles come into the game if Hurtz goes down. Frankly if Hurts struggles I would rather have Foles to step in as the starter before the season is lost. Not saying it will happen but it may. Averaging less than 1 passing TD per game this season with these weapons will be painful to watch if that repeats again this year. I don't see Hurts getting 17 games to right the ship if things go south early in the season unless they are decide full tank mode is the plan at that point. 2 hours ago, Big___Al said: He seems to catch lightning in a bottle quite a bit. 27-2? Very possible the Birds may have gone to and won another SB. That Jeffery drop was a bad one so we just don't know. Foles bigger problem was staying healthy but if you need him to come in win the big game he proved he can do that.
