REPORT: EAGLES DECLINE ANDRE DILLARD’S FIFTH-YEAR OPTION

According to multiple reports, the Philadelphia Eagles have declined to pick up Andre Dillard’s 5th-year option next season.

Philadelphia had until Monday to decide if they wanted to pay Dillard over $11 million in 2023, and the only reason they waited so long was in hopes of landing a draft-day deal.

Philadelphia has listened to trade offers for Dillard since the start of last season, but have wanted a fair return for the former first-rounder.

Dillard played quite well when filling in for Jordan Mailata this past season, shutting down numerous top edge rushers. Just because the Eagles declined, his option doesn’t mean they’re looking to move on from Dillard this season.

If he fills in again and plays at a high level, some team will certainly pay handsomely to have him take over full-time at LT. If not, Howie Roseman could look to bring Dillard back on another team-friendly deal next offseason.

In other news... Water is wet.

There was just no way they could take up his fifth year option.

I think it's crazy that they haven't been able to get a 4th or 5th round pick for Dillard.  There are some teams who desperately need offensive line help like the steeler, jags, Cincy, bears.....
