He took a political compass test and was in the upper left quadrant which in turn is authoritarian left. Thats not so much liberal in the classical sense, but it is definitely "left” and the two are conflated often. Anyway, the idea that leftists or even liberals can’t be racist is absurd. Anti-semitism is quite common on the left, especially in regards to Israeli/Palestinian conflicts and the financial sector. Part of the issue is trying to pigeon hole fascism as a right wing or conservative ideology, as something antithetical to leftist beliefs. It’s not. It’s "the third way” for a reason. It attempts to reconcile the needs of the people spoken about in socialist circles with the truth of hierarchy innate in capitalist circles.

Genuinely curious on this. The USSR was very racially accepting as a government even in the face of Russian culture which I would agree has more than a bit of racism in it. Generally, the Soviet elite were not racists while the prols were the racists.
