time2rock Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Shane Steichen on what A.J. Brown brings to the Eagles, starting RG battle, and more at OTAs Glenn Erby June 5, 2022 11:56 am ET The Eagles are sticking to what works on offense, which means a continued dosage of Shane , Steichen, as the team’s primary play caller in 2022. Even after Philadelphia led the NFL in rushing last season, the Birds will look to increase their downfield passing after acquiring A.J. Brown via trade. Recently, Steichen met with the media and discussed Browns’ physicality, the battle at right guard, and Jalen Hurt’s progress entering year three with the Eagles. Steichen on A.J. Brown (AP Photo/Matt Rourke) He’s going to bring toughness. This guy is relentless. When you watch him on film, he’s hard to tackle. He’s a big-body receiver that’s very explosive, and when you see him on the practice field running routes, you can see the play strength, the explosive ability, in and out of breaks, and he just brings a great mindset to that room. Steichen on calling the plays (Tim Tai/The Philadelphia Inquirer via AP, Pool) Steichen confirmed that he’ll be the primary play caller again this season. Steichen on Jalen Hurts in year-2 of same system (AP Photo/Matt Rourke) Hurts himself has admitted that 2022 will be the first time he’s had the same offensive system in back-to-back seasons since high school. I think what you’ve said is right. I think he said it, he hasn’t been in the same system since high school, dating back to high school. So just the terminology part, talking through it, it’s easy to talk in meetings right now. We’re having great discussions out on the practice field, just calling plays, getting in and out of the huddle, communicating with the wide outs, all those things, timing, anticipation, working through all those things, it’s been good to see. https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/lists/eagles-news-shane-steichen-aj-brown-isaac-seumalo-otas/ 1
Rob331 Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Shane has mastered the art of saying nothing with a long answer. A future head coach for sure.
