unfortunatley, ive heard these states are just going to strongly prohibit areas where carrying is allowed. still though, better than what they had before.

Good ban them. That would open the door for Dems to ban those convicted of domestic violence from owning or possessing guns. I'm sure Maga would line up to support that.

I support it. Legally stating the 2nd amendment doesn't apply to everyone is a huge win. Trump gets the ball rolling, President Newsome extends the ban to all registered republicans. You'd see mass shootings drop significantly.

Wish this was true. Even in states that prohibit this, unfortunately it’s administered to late.

There's the Lautenberg Amendment at the federal level

Bunch of states also have laws that require them to give up their firearms

Because there isn't a proliferation of shootings by gay people.

What about straight white men?

Stats on trans shooters.

  • Transgender perpetrators: Transgender individuals make up ~0.6% of the U.S. adult population (per Williams Institute estimates) and ~1.3% of youth aged 13–17. However, they account for only ~0.11% of known mass shooting suspects over the past decade (per GVA). Experts (e.g., from Northeastern University and the U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center) emphasize there is no "trend" or "epidemic" of transgender involvement; such claims often stem from misinformation or cherry-picked, unverified cases. Trans people are far more likely to be victims of gun violence (4x higher rate of violent crime victimization than cisgender people, per Williams Institute data).

Is maga calling all the white men that committed a mass shooting trans now?

What about convicted felons?

What about people who are addicted to controlled substances?

What about people adjudicated to be mentally incompetent?

What about illegal aliens?

What about people dishonorably discharged from the armed forces?

What about people convicted of domestic violence?

Good, we're making progress. Now since you were a "lawyer" you can look up the definition of a protected class and tell us who qualifies for said protections from discrimination.

All those are examples of people who did something wrong. Regardless of what you feel, being trans is not illegal, being trans does not make you mentally unstable.

Yet. We are only 8 months in.

Rights for me, not for thee.

I think they should all be able to....

Hey genius, do you realize that context is everything? Apparently not. Protections depend on context like housing, employment.

Bless your heart. Why don't you hire transgendered babysitters for your toddler relatives?

So you're saying if a law was enacted tomorrow banning Jews from owning guns, that it wouldn't be found to be unconstitutional? Is that accurate, counselor?
