Posted July 2, 20223 yr EAGLES AMONG ELITE NFC TEAMS IN PETER KING’S LATEST POWER RANKINGS By Victor Williams June 29, 2022 After undergoing a roster makeover this offseason, the Eagles are garnering attention as dark-horse contenders in 2022. They won seven of their final ten games last year, resulting in a Wild Card berth under rookie head coach Nick Sirianni. GM Howie Roseman has since added talent on both sides of the ball, effectively providing Jalen Hurts with ample firepower to thrive in his second year under center. Here’s a look at their key acquisitions this offseason: DE Haason Reddick: 3-year, $45M deal LB Kyzir White: one-year, $5M deal WR Zach Pascal: one-year, $1.5M deal WR AJ Brown: acquired via trade with Titans CB James Bradberry: one-year, $10M deal DT Jordan Davis: Round 1 (No. 13 overall) LB Nakobe Dean: Round 3 (No. 83 overall) S Jaquiski Tartt: one-year, terms TBA There’s a different aura surrounding the team this year — even Miles Sanders has labeled the Eagles as an "All-Star Team.” Although I would’ve liked to avoid any comparisons to the demoralizing "Dream Team” from 2011, national analysts are seemingly buying into the hype as well. NBC Sports’ Peter King recently released his Power Rankings for each conference and has Philadelphia among the NFC’s elite: King has the Eagles just behind the Super Bowl Champion Rams, Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers and Tom Brady-led Bucs. These rankings also have Philly ahead of the division rival Cowboys. On paper, the Eagles are poised to make a run at the NFC East crown. While Dallas has the best quarterback in the division, they lost impact players such as Amari Cooper, La’el Collins and Randy Gregory this offseason. Jalen Hurts had an up-and-down 2021 campaign, completing 61.3% of his passes while exhibiting flashes of big-play potential in key moments. Hurts has spent much of the offseason in California with QB-guru Tom House and his refinements were on display in OTA’s. The Eagles are banking on those improvements to be the catalyst for their new-look offense. If Hurts underwhelms, expect the organization to use their multiple first-round picks on a new signal-caller. https://thelibertyline.com/2022/06/29/eagles-peter-king-power-rankings/
July 2, 20223 yr 4th in the conference despite King having real reservations around Hurts. I mean he really really does love this roster doesn't he.

I’d guess 4th in NFC ONLY IF Hurts plays well. Let’s face it this team will only go as far as Hurts is able to take them.

Hurts needs to play well but I don't think needs to be really good. I think this team can win as long as he is just competent.

Well Hurts was just OK last year and we won 9 games (being the last seed in the playoffs places us 7th best in the NFC). Guessing we’ll need to improve our win total by 2-3 games to move up to 4th best. Sure it’ll take the entire team playing well to accomplish that but if the rest of the team is playing really well and Hurts is just OK again I don’t think we do so.
July 3, 20223 yr 4th best team in the NFC??? Reminds me of the late 80's/early 90's teams. This roster is equally incomplete, and while they may make the playoffs if healthy, I don't expect great success there.
July 4, 20223 yr Hurts had 8 wins Falcons, Panthers, ,Lions, Broncos Saints, Washington, Giants, Washington....most of these were After we switched to a running offense and against back-up QBs Minshew had 1 win over Jets and a loss to Dallas with our 2nd string against Dallas starters. Not saying Minshew should be the starter, merely stating Hurts needs to have a much improved year which is doable with the offense that he has around him as well as a much better Defense otherwise our next QB will be in the draft because NO WAY would I give Hurts a contract of 35-40 million based on mediocrity at best. I'd rather draft another and have a low salaried QB for another 4 years and keep getting better all around.
