There are exceptions sure, but assault rifles are undoubtedly more effective killing machines than pistols. Pistols are by far the most common weapon in all shootings, but if you look at just mass shootings it completely flips where the majority are rifles. there's a reason for that. You give these nutjobs a glock instead of an AR and the death count on average significantly decreases.

The courts have been clear on this, and after the Trump presidency the courts have more conservatives. If you want change, do the hard work and amend the Constitution.

Are you talking about an AR or what the media likes to just call them assault rifles? If ARs are banned then they'll just use another rifle with a multitude of different calibers. There's a lot of different calibers out there

And the courts would swiftly overturn such a ban. I really can't fathom why Democrats are determined to focus on actions that have no chance of success...Oh wait. They're Democrats. They specialize in losing even when they have public support.

It's not that hard guys -- the courts will overturn any legislation that bans any type of weapons. So deal with the issue -- amend the Constitution.

Normal law abiding gun owners don't want to go on a mass shooting. Figure out why those people do it and work on that. Very likely wont have to amend a constitution or call for banning all guns while doing nothing but blaming the other side

My comment is on assault rifles in general.  I just pulled out the AR and Glock as 2 examples for my hypothetical. Confusing wording sorry. We can disagree on what to do about it, but we can at least agree that assault rifles are more deadly than pistols. "They'll just use something else" is only a legitimate grievance if that "something else" is as deadly.

Again we're talking about assault rifles. By definition they have higher muzzle energy than pistols. No one is talking about 22 gauge pea shooters. 

Assault rifles are deadlier weapons than pistols. This really isn't up for debate regardless of what you think the solution to the problem is, or what you think about the legality/efficacy of gun bans etc. It's just a simple fact. I'm not sure why you're fighting this so much.
