Yep, as a father of two school aged children, I lose sleep every time there's a school shooting and people like Charlie Kirk and Alex Jones made money hand over fist by downplaying the gravity of those events every single time.

I literally have to wait days and sometimes weeks to read about the details of those events because of how visceral my reaction is knowing that could just as easily have been the school my kids go to. In fact, I almost had to experience this with a shooting on MSU's campus while my niece was a student there (thankfully she was home that weekend for a family function but her roommates had to shelter in place when it happened.)

And yes, I am deeply saddened that I live in a country with ever escalating violence like this, political or otherwise, but to become so angry as to lose sleep over Charlie Kirk's death? No. I'm not.

According to reports about the Colorado shooting yesterday (which is going largely ignored) could have been much worse if not for the quick action of law enforcement. They responded in under 2 minutes and stormed the school without hesitation.
