We just got very unlucky with Howard and Jackson (DT), who did not have injury history and promptly went down when wearing green.  Like they say on investment circle: past history does not guarantee success.  There is some truth to go with the young players, RB particularly who takes a lot of hard hits and physical abuses.

I liked Howard. I think part of it was also he probably wanted more money than they wanted to pay.

I think Howie overreacts. Example they needed speed so he went after lots of speed players. He just wants to get younger.

I'll say this... Give me Shady over Clement please.

I’m not sure if Shady fixes that problem at this point in his career regardless.

Something to consider is Clement plays special teams and Shady will not do that. At least with Sproles they had a guy who could play special teams as well. The real question is can Clement stay healthy? Hard to trust that after the past two seasons.

On the basis of the last 2 years no he can't. And as a back up and special teams guy you want and need him to be available.

McCoy’s numbers last season weren’t that bad for spot work. Clement is hard to rely on with all the injuries.

Don't get me wrong Shady isn't a perfect option but he's a better option than Clement I think.

I’m not a fan of McCoy as an option. If they bring him in I hope it’s cause they think he can contribute, and not just cause he’s a cheap option.

Oh absolutely. There are cheap options out there who could contribute due to their skill set.

Then the Eagles should sit and wait to see who hits the market when the cuts begin.  There is a long way until the season starts. 

Shady has diminishing skills and doesn't seem to add much leadership to a young team.

I have full confidence in Duce coaching up a UDFA . I don't know why we have to argue over a 3rd string running back every year. We had one bad year with what we had and now everyone loses their minds if we don't have a pro bowl 3rd string RB
