I wonder how much this guy gets to carry the ball at all. He’s probably going to need one of those "play the hot hand” moments to actually get some carries, because he’s definitely the 4th option unless someone gets hurt.

Sanders is already hurt and is guaranteed to get hurt again. Gainwell and Scott aren't worldbeaters. All sermon has to do is be average and he'll get carries over one of those two since they offer just about the same thing as far as style goes

Wow - Michel’s new contract with the Chargers is only $1 MM. I would have rather paid him that and made him our #2 back behind a much injured Sanders.

Look, I really hope Sanders stays on the field but at this point I believe it when I see it.

It is not as much about the offensive line, as about his inconsistent decision making. He is not the fastest thinker. People think of him as an inside runner because of his size, but this is not the case. The guy did much better on the outside perimeter, running and catching, where he had more space and time to think, then being an inside runner. As long as the coach places him in the right position... he is still a young player with some potential. Considering that he cost us nothing, this is a no brainer.
September 3, 20223 yr Unless he can find a way to contribute on special teams, it might be a while before he gets activated for a game. If he gets his chance, I believe Eagles fans will appreciate the effort he puts forth finishing runs. His lack of true speed allows defenders to catch up when he breaks into the open, but he finishes runs in ways that gets the crowd and teammates fired up (similar to Celek with the ball). His style would be nice if we needed a second half "closer" to milk the clock with a lead. That extra effort to finish runs is what deflates a tired defense.

September 7, 20223 yr Eagles have Sermon under contract for 3 years at a very reasonable $880k to $1.3mil per year. Could be a very good pickup.
