Rob331 Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 The Eagles have TOO many free agents and other key guys not expected to be back. QB Minshew (Key reserve) RB Sanders (Starter) WR Pascal (Key reserve) G Seumalo (Starter), Opeta T LClark, Dillard (Key reserve) C Kelce (Starter) DT Hargrave (Starter), Cox (Starter) DE Graham (Key reserve), Barnett LB White (starter), Edwards (starter) CB Bradberry (starter) S GArdner-Johnson (starter), Epps (starter) Filling these 17 openings including 9 starters is going to be a Herculean task. Their 7 draft picks (1,1,2,3,4,7.7) aren't going to be enough to replenish the roster with quality starters or depth. Even if all of the picks were hits, which is highly unlikely, that still leaves beau coup holes. The only answers are: Re-sign as many of our own guys as we possibly can Trade palyers and picks for more picks Howie better get moving. 1
nipples Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 The route they take is completely dependent on Hurts. If he takes a major step forward this season, they’ll pay him. In that case they’ll be limited in how much they can spend to re-sign these guys. If Hurts shows little to no improvement, they’ll likely be looking to draft a QB. That will give them a QB on the cheap for four years so they can re-sign as many of those guys as they want. Right off I will say that I think the following are gone: Minshew, Dillard, Kelce (retire), Cox, Barnett, Sanders Beyond that, it really depends on the QB situation

Let him play out his last contract year. Then what?

I think there’s little chance of that one. This should be a good QB class, and they have two first round picks. So that draft is their best shot. If Hurts doesn’t step up this year and prove that he’s the guy, they would be dumb to not to draft his replacement.
weko Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I would think we would trade down a couple of times for more picks
