time2rock Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 ROSTER OUTLOOK: THREE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE EAGLES’ NEWEST RECEIVER By Victor Williams September 7, 2022 Following his workout yesterday, the Eagles signed former Bengals WR Auden Tate to their practice squad. Tate signed with Atlanta in March as a free agent but was waived during final roster cuts, allowing the Eagles to scoop him up. Here are three things to know about the team’s newest receiver. Physical tools Standing at 6’5″, 228 pounds, Tate is an imposing receiver who brings good size and physicality to the position. He has strong hands and uses impressive body control to make contested catches in traffic. While his play speed leaves much to be desired, Tate’s ability to box out defenders has proved useful at the pro level. College career Tate was a dynamic red-zone threat in college, leading the ACC with ten TDs in his final season at Florida State. He fought through injuries throughout the year but still appeared in 12 games, catching 40 passes for 548 yards. His three touchdown receptions in the 2017 Independence Bowl tied a bowl record. Four-year stint in Cincinatti Auden Tate was drafted by Cincinatti in the final round of the 2018 draft. His most productive season came in 2019 when he totaled 40 receptions for 575 yards and a TD. He’s had just 17 catches since then, however, as Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Ja’Marr Chase came to town. At just 25 years old, Tate will look to further his development in Philadelphia. https://thelibertyline.com/2022/09/07/eagles-three-things-auden-tate/ [NOTE: click on link to article above if you wish to view the videos in article]
