Imagine such an avid reader, reading 1000 page books at age seven, and yet being this woefully ignorant of history.

Well…today I learned that I never gave my family a second’s thought until this thread was made. Amazing.

You can harp on the fact that it was a "black guy's" opinion but the white dude posted it here.

Nah it wasn't a black guy. It was "a black". Which is objectively 20x funnier.

It’s definitely a good idea to get your news from here.

Yea believe it or not that’s exactly what I do. The news of the day if important or not can usually be found and I get the perspective from both sides of the coin. Sounds funny to you guys but makes sense to me

Well, I'd love to know your top five news posters.

I'm sure lots of people would love to know.

I read a lot of the links that people post ,,it’s not like I only take the opinions of posters as absolute facts.I like to get a feel on how people feel about things on both sides. Believe it or not I do sometimes change the way I think about things after reading one of you guys post  ,righties and lefties

i for one rarely ever click on a link from anyone in here. bunch of f'ng weirdos.

What was the title of that 1000 page book you read at age 7?

Centennial

James A Michener

The book I picked up when I finished that was

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Richard Bach.

I did have to look up the author on that one. Only remembered the odd title.

Not much of a children's book section at my grandparents house back then.

Ignorant? 🤣

No different than atrocities suffered by any other group at one point or another in history. I just don't give ****.  It's history. Learn from it or don't but you can't get there from here.

Aside from virtue signaling it means nothing to you either. The fact I believe that makes you a hypocrite is as meaningless as your opinion that I'm ignorant.

Get over it or don't.

Learned 2 more things today.

1. American Airlines sucks worse than I thought

2. Thinking about your wife’s parents and extended family on a daily basis is abnormal

This place is so educational

History means quite a lot to me.

I am not a moron doomed to repeat it.

Now get back to entertaining us with your genius. Great show. Four stars. Would urinate on again.

Stick with me and you’ll be fine.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull is a great (kids) book.

I love the mental image of Brian reading the Eagle's message board as his only source of news, but somehow picking up the absolute worst takes of every poster.  Abra's views on Ukraine, RTK's love of Hurts, EagleVA's approach to astronomy, Procus' epidemiology, Bobeph's taste in booze, Matthew's attempts to "stop the steal", Vikas' human resource skills, Hazelton Eagle's fiscal responsibility, IFB's dieting strategies, Izdum's rapping skills

It was in the book case.

Unrelated but now I'm wondering what family member wound up that book case. It would look cool in my office.
