time2rock Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Eagles inactives: Grant Calcaterra down for opener DETROIT — Eagles rookie Grant Calcaterra, who missed much of training camp with a hamstring injury, is inactive for the opener at Ford Field. The sixth-round pick is healthy now but the Eagles brought up Noah Togiai to be their third tight end for this game. Here’s a look at Eagles’ inactives for Sunday: QB Ian Book S Reed Blankenship RB Trey Sermon TE Grant Calcaterra DE Tarron Jackson G Josh Sills The Eagles went into this game with just 52 players on their active roster. But also called up a couple for this game. On Saturday, the Eagles elevated WR Britain Covey and TE Noah Togiai for their game against the Lions. Expect Covey to be the Eagles’ punt returner in this game. Covey was an electric return man at Utah. Coming into this game, the Eagles were incredibly healthy. The four players they listed on the injury report this week, including Miles Sanders, were all full participants by the end of the week. They did not give any players a game status of questionable or doubtful. The only injury the Eagles are dealing with is to backup left tackle Andre Dillard, who broke his forearm in practice. Dillard had surgery, is on IR and will miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season. But he’s expected to return this season. The Lions’ starting center Frank Ragnow, who was limited during the week is active. Here are the Lions’ Inactives: G Tommy Kraemer CB Chase Lucas S Ifeatu Melifonwu TE James Mitchell LB Julian Okwara DL Demetrius Taylor https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/eagles-inactives-grant-calcaterra-down-opener
Rob331 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Calcaterra sitting makes sense. Togiai is a better special teams player and givinig Calcaterra's hamstring more time makes sense.
