Interesting post. I do worry a little about Epps in coverage. 

I don’t know anything about Porter Gustin but reports suggest that may be a smart move as he is a young, motivated DE talent who has been slowed by injury and could be effective if healthy.

I’m not sure if that’s good or not. Does it mean they’ll have trouble catching the ball, or will it be easier to catch because it sticks to the goo?

I think Epps is going to be one of those players who is a tone setter. He may make mistakes in coverage but he'll make a big tackle that may get the team going a little bit. 

The pass rush is the major concern.

I think epps and Gardner bring alot of energy, both seem to be pretty emotional players.

Not too worried about epps in coverage in the past he's lined up and covered alot WRs and done pretty well.

Gardner should be a bit better hopefully after getting another week of acclimation.

I definitely think he'll settle down more as he becomes more acclimatised to the scheme.

Hargrave played 38 snaps (which accounted for 55% of the total # of snaps on defense) and Williams 33 snaps (48%).

Cox seemingly can't be bothered to try against the run anymore, which is a major problem when the other starting DT is Hargrave.  Barnett going down won't help.

I didn’t understand the Epps love at all and I still don’t see it. Hopefully he’s able to prove me wrong.

Doesn't matter how many reps anyone played, because the D didn't play as a whole. Unacceptable. Of course, there will be all kinds of excuses made for Gannon.
