Again, taking out the butterfly effect, if I had to do 2013 over again, I would give Bradley a shot. I like our FO more than Jacksonville and I’d be curious to see what Bradley could have done under a better owner.

I don't care about butterflies!!

who would it be and why would you choose Marcus Smith?

FYP

I'd erase Bill Romanowski from team history. He is a scumbag.

man, there are a lot...some that haven't been mentioned in no particular order...

Sean Considine

Dhani Jones

Casey Matthews

Jerome McDougle

Bradley Fletcher

Bubby Brister

Sam Bradford

Mark Sanchez

Jon Harris

Seriously, it really is hard to pick just one.  There are quite a few I’d like to erase for different reasons:

DeMarco Murray

Steve Smith

Miles Austin

Marcus Smith

Danny Watkins

Nnamdi Asomugha

Winston Justice

Mike McMahon

Jaiquawn Jarrett

Eric Rowe

Daniel Te’o-Nesheim

etc

This thread just turned into erase all the bad players. Not much of a thought process going on there

Agree.  The point of these types of questions is to pick the ONE that you most dislike or think made the biggest negative impact.

Taking the Butterfly Effect into account, I wouldn’t change anything about the Birds past, but in a vacuum, I wouldn’t have a problem removing Chip Kelly from the team history.

I have to disagree.  Without Kelly, the team would never have won the SB.  Under Kelly, Foles had that 27-2 td to int ratio year along with the 7 td game in Oakland.  DP had the foresight to parse through tape of Foles while playing under Kelly and using that material, was able to devise game plans that put the team over the top in 2017.

Here's one - Jaws.

He had some okay years with the team, nothing great.  We won the NFCCG in 1980 in spite of him, not because of him.  How many picks in the SB?  His first pass was a pick and set the tone for the game.

Jaws felt a certain entitlement to be the starting QB.  I credit Ryan for IR'g him with an injured pinky finger and cutting him during the offseason.

At first I thought which player did I just dislike so much that I wish they were never an Eagle...but I'm thinking of what player if removed could have made things turn out differently.  Is there one single player that if removing them - i.e. they never joined the team - would it help set things in motion to win a championship?  Yes yes, butterfly effect and all that, and we wouldn't have had 2017...maybe, maybe not.  But this team should have won 3 or 4 Super Bowls before Doug was hired anyway.

One idea is Randall Cunningham.  Perhaps if they had a QB less erratic, Buddy would have not let him loose to improvise and been forced to have a more traditional QB and offense to pair with a great defense.

Another is McNabb and I love what he did in his early seasons (with little help at TE and WR).  But I'm thinking long term.  Say they don't take McNabb at 2, instead taking Akili Smith or Tim Couch (let's say the Browns take McNabb).  The QB busts and they have to start over.  Perhaps in 2001 they take Vick or Brees.  Would that have contributed to at least one Super Bowl for that team?

Or how about Jerome McDougle?  Instead the Eagles take Troy Polamalu in 2003.  Or in the same draft, remove LJ Smith and instead they take Jason Witten.  Witten paired with McNabb could have given him a top weapon finally.

I kind of like the LJ Smith one, McNabb to Witten helps them win the Super Bowl in 2003.

mcnabb...overall a very good career here but too many disappointments in big moments...3 picks to ricky manning jr in the nfc chip game...the ints to ronde barber in the nfc chip game the year before...puking on the field during the super bowl. so many disappointments & so much time wasted trying to win the big one with him at qb.

Kind of like the 2nd round of the player you irrationally hate?

Can I get rid of an owner?  How about Norman Braman?  This guy broke apart the best defense in Eagle (and possibly) NFL history because he was such a cheapskate.  He's the reason that Reggie White left Philly.  Tar and feather that MFer.

How about Bryce Paup?  True he played for the Packers but his hit on Cunningham in the first game probably cost the Eagles a Super Bowl that year......with Cunningham and that defense (#1 straight across the board), they easily could have won!  They went 10-6, missed the playoffs using 6 different QB's!!!  I'd love to erase Paup from our Franchise History!!

Where would that be? We still needed to sign a coach and Gus Bradley sucked arse too

Personally I would have kept Andy around another year, but it is what it is.

Difficult to pick one because it is hard to determine which one had the biggest negative impact.  Like I stated in an earlier post, there are a few that had different types of impacts on the team.

Which is why I prefaced the comment mentioning the butterfly effect. Since I can’t remove that, I wouldn’t remove Chip from our history. I’d only do it in a vacuum.

i think it’s close between watkins and smith. total wasted picks. to think who we could’ve had

Those 2 aren't even close to being the worst Eagles picks - try Leonard Renfro and Jon Harris

andy was ready to leave, I felt it was the right time even though I am a big andy reid guy. He had a rough season as a coach and a human being and I think a change in scenery was exactly what he needed to revitalize his career. He seems to have regained his jovial personality which was waning towards the end of his time here.

There are several Birds players I would love to forget in recent years (lots of corners in there) but i think I will go with Nnamdi from that group. I also was not a fan of Danny Watkins, nor Dhani Jones. What really bugged me about the last two was that they really didnt have their heart in football, as evidenced by how well Dhani has done for himself outside football. Dhani in particular was a clown...

But taking the cake for me in recent years has to be Jason Babin. What an effing jerk.

And finally, lets just put pretty much every ex-cowboy we have ever signed...looking at you Demarco Murray, Miles Austin, Orlando Scandrick, and Chris Bonoil. I didnt like it when we signed em, and nothing they did here changes my mind (Herschel gets a pass because he is a dawg)

I think I would have forced Andy to take a sabbatical for a year and re-invent himself.

Which coach would you remove?

I wouldn't remove him but I never understand the Buddy Ryan love. Never won a playoff game. I was also pretty young though. I wouldn't remove Chip though because that brought us Doug. Ray Rhodes?

Neither have I but I wouldn't remove him. I wouldn't even remove chip and I hated that dude with all the rage in my heart.

Chip led us to Doug. The rest is history as they say.

D. Murray
