September 29, 20223 yr Author Figure areas of need for 2023 draft will include DT/DE/RB/G Thought this draft targeted players the Eagles would show interest in next year. Breese replaces Cox Harrison replaces Barnett or Graham Charbonnet replaces Sanders Cohen competes to replace Semaulo The rest could all find effective roles on the roster as depth behind starters.
September 29, 20223 yr Author In this hypothetical scenario, assumptions would include the Eagles re-signing Bradberry and Gardener-Johnson to solidify the secondary going forward.
September 30, 20223 yr Love the first 4 picks - BUT. They'd still need another starting safety (Epps is a FA), two LB's (White and Edwards are FA's), a back up center (Kelce retiremement). They have 18 free agents. This will be interesting to see how Howie maneuvers through this one.
September 30, 20223 yr Here's the FA list. The guys you've replaced or predict will be retained are highlighted. As you can see - out 7 draft picks will leave plenty of holes QB - Minshwe RB - Sanders WR - Pascal G - Seumalo, Opeta C - Kelce T - Dillard DT - Hargrave and Cox DE - Graham and Barnett LB White and Edeards CB Bradberry S - Epps, CGJ LS - Lovato
September 30, 20223 yr Author My guess is that if the defense continues to play well that we'll see both Epps and one of White/Edwards re-signed. Think the Eagles will be prudent to get deals done for their own players and spend less in the 2023 FA market. On defense, I could see Bradberry, Gardner-Johnson, Epps, and Edwards all getting deals here. On offense, maybe a cheap deal to retain Pascal. Would maybe look then to alter back end of the draft to address backup QB, OT, and LB. Although I really like Cox, Jr. Think he's going to be a stud in the NFL as a DE/OLB hybrid a la Reddick.
