October 10, 20223 yr I just looked it up. You are allowed to protect four players on your practice squad every week and you are allowed to protect them as many times during a season as you want. So theoretically the Eagles could keep Dicker on their practice squad all year if they want to. They would just have to protect him each week.
October 12, 20222 yr Dicker named NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/10/12/cameron-dicker-named-nfc-special-teams-player-of-the-week/
October 12, 20222 yr That's such a strange award. He made four kicks, two of them being an extra point and another being a kick that's ten yards shorter than an extra point. So really all he did that was notable was make a 42-yard field goal. And he gets an award for THAT? How is that better than Justin Tucker's fairly routine 4-for-4, including a 58-yarder, and a do-or-die 43-yarder at the gun that's dead center down the middle?

Still my general point still stands. I'm sure there was an NFC kicker who made a field goal longer than 42 yards who might have been more deserving. Let's see. Graham Gano was 2-of-2 from 48 and 37. Cairo Santos was 3-of-3 from 50, 43, and 51. Jason Myers was 2-of-2 from 53 and 31.
October 13, 20222 yr I hear you. I think it is the context of his first NFL game, a lot on the line, including the Eagles unbeaten record. Others may have been 'better' - but he did all that was asked of him under great pressure. There's nothing more he could have done. Let your soul have a little romance

He made his kicks, including one that was a go ahead/ ultimate game winning FG. Since I have no hatred for the Chargers, I don’t mind him being a hero again, for them this time.

Aside from that, sure, let him go out a winner. The Chargers still haven't put Dustin Hopkins on IR so I'm guessing he might be back soon, but it's possible that Dicker gets another game (or two) with them.

If there are more kicker injuries, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him bounce around.
