Eagles laying big cheese vs. the Steelers. Pittsburgh is the definition of mediocre, going 3-3-1 ATS and they have QB problems.  Over/under is 43.5. The money line is ridiculous.

Side: Eagles -11
Total: 43.5
Moneyline: Eagles -550(!!)/Steelers+400

I think I'd take the Eagles. Pickett is gonna turn it over more than once.

11 point spread is a lot to cover. We know the Birds don't press more than they have to. I am not a betting man, but I would back against the Eagles covering the spread here.

31-13 eagles so yeah Is my guess which would be eagles and the over.   But  going with eagles and the under.

I can't imagine they have.  In fact, I suspect the Steelers haven't been double-digit doggies more than a handful of times in the last 25 years.

Given the way the Eagles play the second half, this has the potential for a backdoor Steelers cover written all over it.

Agreed.

I can totally see the Stillers getting a late TD or two.  Eagles could be up kinda big, the Defense goes to a prevent D with some younger players in there, and Pickett throws some TDs.

Exactly what I had in mind:

Eagles are up, say, 28-10 in the 4th.  Steelers score to cut it to 28-17 and the Eagles are doing their traditional 2nd half-offensive slumber party.
Steelers force a wobbly Aaron Siposs punt and take over the ball at their own 43 with 2:30 left.
Eagles bettors are praying the push holds, knowing that since it's still a 2-score game, the Steelers will undoubtedly kick a field goal and try to get the ball back.
Steelers kick the FG but lose the onside kick attempt.
Final score: Eagles 28 Steelers 20.

Bad beat alert.

-11? Hmm... Vegas does it again. I'm not sure I'd back us on that line. Pittsburgh are not good but I think they'll play tough and coning off the bye we may start slow.

Pre-AFL/NFL merger, probably yes.

Thursday update:

Both the line and the total have dropped a half point.  It's now Eagles -10.5 with a total of 43.

The steelers offensive line is.......well offensive.  Pickett will struggle against this defensive backfield.  They're offense does nothing well and they're scoring 15 pts a game.  2nd worst in the league.   Their defense is average especially without Watt.

Eagles 34, pittsburgh 10
