The Philadelphia Eagles bolstered their pass rush on Wednesday, acquiring defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Eagles are sending a fourth-round pick to Chicago in the trade, according to a source.

A 12th-year pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection, Quinn has 102 career sacks, including 18.5 last season for the Bears.

Bears linebacker Roquan Smith became emotional upon hearing news of the trade.

"I have a great deal of respect for that guy," Smith said. "Damn. Crazy."

Great deal for the Eagles and they didn't overpay.  Well done!

And he's under contract for 2 more years (through 2024) at a fairly reasonable rate ($13.9M in 2023, $12.9M in 2024).

Not a bad price to pay considering the overall situation.  The Eagles have a true shot at a title this year (as it looks right now), so gambling a 4th on a player who has been good in this league is worth the risk...even if he doesn't play for us beyond this year.

4th round pick for a guy who can come in for a year or two, add some depth and bring a little production. Seems like a good smart move by Howie.
