For those complaining about our opponents, the winning percentage of the 14-0 1972 Miami Dolphins opponents was a combined 36.7%.

Sometimes it's just a bit of luck.

What looked like "tough" games when they created the schedule turned out to be not so. ie Packers Colts Cardinals.

When we played the Jags they were getting a lot of praise for improving. The Vikings are currently one of the best teams in the NFC. The Cowboys aren't a bad team (though Dallas sucks) and the Giants are going to be a tough game for us.

Every year when the schedule comes out people say our schedule is brutal and we always get a tough schedule blah blah blah. Then about 4 games into it when we are winning people complain we have a cake schedule lol. It's like clock work around here.

It’s hard to know how difficult our schedule has been. Going into the year, people expected teams like the Bucs, Packers, and Rams to be good. Instead, they’ve all been bad, and teams like the Vikings, Cowboys, and Giants have been good.

Thing is... The NFC just isn't that good this year and we are the best team in the NFC. And so until we come up against one of the best teams in the AFC we don't really know how good we are. But we are a very good team no doubt about that.

Last year's playoff teams, their current schedule.

Cowboys lost to Tampa with Dak and beat the Rams, but they’re supposed to be the team that will dethrone the Eagles.

Vikings are 7-1.

I'm guessing our first loss might be to the Titans.

In fact that Tennesse-Giants-Bears-Dallas stretch is looking kinda brutal right now.

We need to rack up all the wins we can get right now.

It's hard to win in the NFL. It's hard to win 4 in a row. 8 or more- it doesn't matter....it's a major accomplishment. EVERY team is throwing their best at you every week, and you win anyway. The schedule doesn't mean sheeeeet to me. What they are accomplishing is very hard to do. Leave it at that. The Mods should create a Nitpicker's Anonymous room for the board. If they did that, I would personally write the Nitpickers 12 Steps for them, so that they may be healed.

Strength of schedule means nothing......talking fodder for media morons and clueless fans.

Think the packers and bills were worried about this weeks games at the beginning of the year?

It happens every week in the NFL.....some teams get better in the offseason, and improve during the year.....other's do the opposite.  For all kinds of reasons.

SoS = nothing.

Sick of hearing about our easy schedule. Its pretty irrelevant when the supposedly good teams are losing too.

You have to also consider that beating a team immediately decreases your strength of schedule, because you’re handing a loss to a team. That’s particularly impactful earlier in the year when not a ton of games have been played. The Eagles are 8-0… so they’re responsible for 8 of their opponents losses. If the Eagles were a mediocre, 4-4 team, their SOS would be higher.

Had they lost to the Vikings and Commanders, for example, the Commies would be 5-4 and Vikings would be undefeated. That would make the eagles schedule look harder.

Really the only time SoS becomes important is for playoff seeding should the top 5 tiebreakers be even (head-to-head, win% in games played within division, win% in common games, win% in conference games, strength of victory in all games) and for final draft positioning.

I'll continue to update.

Yep.  What few people remember is the Jets finished second in the AFC East in 1972 at 7-7.  Jets were 5-2 to start that season before faltering to a 2-5 finish as with a couple more wins their final game that season against the Browns would have been for a playoff spot.  Jets were 8-5 or 9-4 going into that game and they win it, Jets likely are in Pittsburgh to play the Steelers in the Divisional round and we never have "The immaculate reception."

Dolphins played a very weak schedule in 1972 and as I remember were actually underdogs to the then-Redskins in that Super Bowl.

F your strength of schedule nonsense 😜

I’m tired of the No Dak argument. They managed to go 5-0 with Rush outside of the Eagles loss. So they were good enough to beat plenty of teams with Rush at QB, but suddenly they lose to the Eagles and it’s an excuse.

I'm willing to bet not a single head coach in the NFL looks at their team's schedule and says "that looks easy".......

You don't get players being quoted as saying "we have a weak SoS, so we should glide into the playoffs"

I haven't seen any complaints. The complaints have been more to people mentioning that it's an easy schedule

It's funny seeing people complain whenever it gets mentioned. In the offseason it was pretty much a universal thought that we had an easy schedule

We play who is on the schedule. So what if we got an easy one. Pats won Lombardi's in an easy division for years

Seems to me most of the criticism over having an easy schedule is from fans of other teams (especially Dallas fans) trying to throw water on all the praise being showered on us for being undefeated.
