I can’t for the life of me understand why we are in the redzone  (or close to) down 6 and we’re snapping the ball with 20+ seconds left on the play clock. The Colts got the ball back with 1:20 and a time out.  We could of ran another 40 seconds off (at least) before giving them the ball back. It was very clear this was the drive. This was our only hope. And then on top of it we elect to to not run a another play before the end of the 3rd quarter down 2 scores but had no issues hurrying up to make sure we got another play in before the 2 minute warning down 6 and in the red zone knowing the colts very well will get the ball back only needing 3.

so go ahead and talk trash to the crowd Nick when you can’t even plan ahead. Yes the TD was the most important, nothing happens without that. But to literally crap the bed on such a simple fundamental strategy is outstanding.

My only guess why we ran that play is bc Nick thought they would catch them off guard. I'm probably giving him too much benefit of the doubt.

I mean look the D played very very well today. I think Nick and Steichen at that point are just looking for advantages to score. At that time that was what was most important.

I see the arguments made but you gotta think ahead a little bit. Once you reached the red zone and you realized "okay this is it. It’s this drive or nothing” you gotta think of the time Indie would have

You have to sort of hurry up there because there's a chance you don't score and you'll need time on the clock after an ensuing Colts punt. My issue was in calling a timeout after that lame attempt at drawing the Colts offside. When you burn that timeout, you're kinda putting all your eggs in the basket of scoring on this drive because you probably won't have much time on the clock if you do end up stopping the Colts after the failed drive.

Yeah this, to line up that long on the fake QB sneak was dumb, I was shouting at the screen at that point, everyone who's ever watched a football game knew what they were doing, it was bush league, they'd have had a better shot making them jump lining up in a standard formation.

Yeah it was madness really. It was never going to work let's be honest. I mean it would have taken a really dumb play by the Colts there. I guess dumb plays do happen but you've got to be smarter and better than that.

He wasn't trash talking colts fans, he was thanking Eagles fans.

Yeah, agree 100%. He kind of got caught in between trying to save some clock in case we didn't score a TD, and going all-in on the drive and trying to burn clock. It resulted in us being caught in weird middle ground where we both wouldn't have had time if we were stopped on the final drive and ended up giving them way too much time after we scored. A worst of both worlds situation. Thankfully the defense bailed us out again.

The most egregious clock management was at the end of the second quarter. They are at 2nd and 14, and the Eagles have all 3 of their timeouts with a minute to go. Instead of calling a time out and trying to save some clock, they were just ok with letting them run the clock down.

You have to trust that your defense will do their job and try and get the ball back to the offense with some time on the clock.

That might have made sense.. If they didn't lineup for a QB sneak 2 yards out out to try and draw an offside. Instead blew a timeout.

I was saying the same thing during the game. We either score on that drive or we lose the game so there is no reason to leave anytime on the clock. We should have let the 2 minute warning hit before hiking the ball (unless there were trying to get them to bite and draw them offsides).
