I'm shopping around for Internet for my home because I need my own now.  I'm looking for something simple and cheap.  Is there something less than $50/month around, that won't increase to $80/month in 2 years?  I looked at Xfinity, which is running a $30/month promo until Monday.  I thought about just using my phone as a hotspot, since I'm not home much due to work, but I don't know if there are extra charges for using hotspot data.  Anything else for just the basics like using my laptop and streaming a show once a night?

If you're getting Comcast, learn Hindi.

I have windstream kinetic fiber optic at my house. The 500mb service is around 60 a month. I have the gig service and it's been great for the last year. They did a promo when I first got it where it was super cheap but once it gets to the normal price it stays the same. They're just rolling it out though so it might not be around you yet. It's been solid though for the last year that I've had it.

I actually work with a lot of Indian people, so I can understand their accents pretty well

$50 a month with no taxes and no contract and no paying for equipment is good.  Is that a home mobile hotspot that you plug into a wall or something?  What's the mbps?

You get something similar to a router that you just plug in so yes in a way it acts as a mobile hot spot. Id say the Mbps runs around 50 but it goes anywhere from 33 to 183. I have zero issues streaming live tv, downloading games ect.

Do you need to be a T-Mobile customer? Or is the mobile hotspot the cellular service already?  It is really just plug-and-play?

Nice.  Has it ever been cheaper? Have you ever seen any promos or specials?  Do you see the price going up in a few years?

I haven't seen any promos other then you get some free streaming services for 6 months to a year. I'm not sure if they will make it more or not. I have had it for over a year and haven't seen any talks of an increase.
