Posted December 9, 20222 yr Jalen Hurts surpasses Carson Wentz's 2017 season in almost every category Jalen Hurts is having, arguably, the best season of any Eagles quarterback ever. In just his second full season as a starting QB, the 24-year-old is completing 68.1-percent of his passes. He has thrown for 2,940 yards, 20 TDs, and just three INTs and has a QB rating of 108.3. On the ground, Hurts has rushed for 609 yards and nine touchdowns with just two fumbles lost. If you add it all up, Hurts has accounted for 3,549 yards and 29 touchdowns with just three interceptions and five total turnovers. His 2022 season, through 12 games, has surpassed Carson Wentz's 2017 season, where Wentz was set to win NFL MVP before tearing his ACL. Hurts is amidst a two-horse race for NFL MVP with Patrick Mahomes, but after another Eagles win (11-1) and a Chiefs loss (9-3), Hurts may have the edge. At the very least, it's close. https://www.audacy.com/94wip/sports/eagles/jalen-hurts-carson-wentz-philadelphia-eagles-2017-stats-mvp
December 10, 20222 yr He's been sensational. And what the stats don't tell you is the kind of leader he is and his ability to stay calm and make big big plays. Wentz was great at making big plays in 2017 but Hurts does it in a very different way. Some of Wentz plays were almost superhuman and you knew that was unlikely to continue for years. Hurts is just so cool and calm, he doesn't become flustered and he stays on track no matter what's happening.
December 10, 20222 yr It’s clear the game has slowed down some for Hurts and I feel like he has the potential to be even better. He’s still a work in progress and hasn’t been perfect, but still vastly improved from the player he once was. A feat far too many people said he couldn’t accomplish.
