How sweet would it be to clinch the one seed in Jerruh World?

Curious if Nick would sit the starters until playoffs once we clinch 1st seed

Christ I hope not, you can't turn form on and off at will, keep pulling them when we have games won by all means but full games off is just asking to lay an egg when the big game comes.

Yes. I'm sure the starters would play against NO for at least half the game. But who cares about draft. Rather go in as healthy as possible. Howie gonna trade back anyway

Agreed. Howie is going to trade back.

I think they'd play a reasonably amount of time against the Saints to secure the high pick then treat the Giants like a preseason game.

Better not if Anderson or Carter are there.

I hope Jalen Hurts throws a couple deep passes towards Smity so that he can get 1k receiving yards as well.

The Eagles have never had two WRs with 1k plus yards receiving, yet it could happen possibly even against the Bears.
However I kind of hope it happens against the Cowboys.

Shoulda happened if not for Chip. 2013 DeSean goes for 1332 and 9 TDs but Maclin missed the season w an acl. Chip releases DeSean after that season.

2014 Maclin comes back and puts up 1318 and 10 TDs. Imagine had we kept them together. But ultimately the Chipnanigans led to a SB so hard to complain.

Smity currently has 775 receiving yards, so he only needs 225 yards before the season ends in four weeks.!  Which is only 57 yards per game.

If Quez Watkins averages 172 yards per game for the next four weeks, the Eagles could have 3 WRs with 1k yards (not likely) or Dallas Goedert would need 456 yards which would be 114 per game for the rest of the season (possible if he plays against the Bears this Sunday.

So the Eagles actually clinch with a loss by Dallas to the Jaguars and a win against the Bears.  With Dallas so focused on that upcoming game they could overlook the Jags who are actually fighting for their playoff lives right now. At that point the Eagles could never get to 4 losses and have the tie breaker against the Vikings. So go Jags!

There are 3 games after today. @Dallas, NO, and Giants. They could mathematically get to 4 losses. Worst part, is that means a loss against Dallas which could still allow them to finish with a better division record. We can’t clinch mathematically, but with the improbability that we lose all the other 3 games, we would clinch for all intents and purposes, (intensive purposes for those of you who like to butcher that phrase).

Yes and no. Eagles can clinch the east, but not home field. Vikings only have 3 losses. If Dal loses to Jags and we beat Chicago, we still need to beat one other team to clinch home field.

They already own tiebreakers over the Vikings and Cowboys.   Just win these 2 next games and then they can treat the last two games any way they want as far as starters.  The Birds don't have to scoreboard watch.  Beat the Bears, Beat the Cowboys this week and by Christmas the Eagles will have clinched everything.

Just like the comment above me, "The Philly Special Christmas" has made up for our Santa Sins, lol.  Plus the Birds are 2-0 on Christmas beating Dallas in 06 and Raiders during Super Bowl run 2017.   I have a good feeling about Christmas this year.

So a Dallas loss and an eagles win gets us the division today?

No.

Yeah I forgot about the extra game. Eagles gotta win the next two regardless.

So winning any of our last 3 games guarantees us homefield right?

Yep that's correct. How incredible is that. What a position to be in.

According to The NY Times playoff simulator one win and we have the number 1 seed. Doesn’t matter who it is against.

Yea. But there still seems to be some confusion in here.
