Anyone else watch this show?  I love it - always been a big fan of the survival type stuff.  Really liked Survivorman with Les Stroud when that show was running.

New season started last night - this cast so far seems to have good potential.  Blows my mind that someone can lose something as key as a ferro rod when you're living in the arctic and know you're going to need a fire.  Seemed like he gave up looking for it really quickly as well - I'm thinking he wouldn't have had what it takes to last 100 days mentally.

Guess I’m the only one who watches so I’ll just talk to myself <_<

I have to say the favorites to win right now are Joel - the dude from South Africa and Roland - the dude from Alaska.

Haven’t seen it but I liked Bear Grylls.  Is this like naked and afraid without the naked?

No - I think naked and afraid they had camera crews - this is more like survivor man but there’s 10 people to start at different places in a certain area and last one standing wins

Alone is amazing! But I’m really behind this season.  Some of these survivalists are just insane!

I remember the one idiot a few years ago who had plenty of food but wouldn't eat it and they wound up medical tapping him because he lost so much weight

Yeah - then he cried and said he would start eating it - he had like 70 or 80 smoked and dried fish fillets.  They were like Yeah, no, it's too late for that now

That’s what I find fascinating about the show. He rationed so much that his body tricked him to hoard when he should have been eating.

My favorite was the Moose guy who wound up going to war with the wolverine last season. Talk about a crazy story.

Les Stroud (Survivorman) is the G.O.A.T.... Was never really a fan of Bear Gryllis.

I would also watch Dual Survivor, but that show blew up.

These shows definitely got me into prepping a few years ago (nothing crazy, just practical stuff for real world events/emergencies) and I'm glad I did, because I was like the only person I know who didn't have to panic buy stuff at the beginning of the COVID scare.

This season is definitely the most prepared cast they've had yet.  Everyone seems to really know their ish.  I wish they would have elaborated more about what took out the guy from Kentucky last week - did he pick something up from the squirrel he ate or was his body just reacting poorly to that being the first thing he had eaten in a while?

Have you watched the post show with Colby Donaldson (former contestant on Survivor)?  I haven’t caught up yet so Im Leaving the thread now but usually they talk about that stuff in detail after the show. It’s something I love this season (although I fear from some of the people’s expressions you can tell who didn’t do well by the post episode interviews).

Season finale tomorrow night - 3 HOURS - gonna be epic.  Still think either Roland pulls it off or none of them make it 100 days.  Anyone else have a prediction?
