February 23, 20232 yr I really like what I read about about Leonhard, but seems he chose surgery over a lifetime opportunity to coach in the NFL especially a D like the Eagles.

February 23, 20232 yr Going to be funny after they spent all of this time interviewing multiple candidates only to hire Wilson. Maybe someone out there ends up being a diamond in the rough, but there just aren't any can't miss DC's sitting around out there right now.

One of the college guys they interviewed could end up being LB coach

February 24, 20232 yr How I know the Eagles will have a subpar year in 2023 - It's Feb 24th and they have no OC or DC. Not a good sign most of the good ones already have new jobs.

I see more of a 10 win team, especially with all of the player losses on the Defense. So, what is "subpar” to you? Just curious.

Quite frankly all of their coaching searches have taken a long time and looked lost but they often work out anyway

Every time there is a coaching vacancy, some fans whine that they haven't hired someone yet and they're losing out on all the good candidates and will be screwed. People said that with Doug and Siri, both of them took their teams to the Super Bowl in their 2nd seasons.

Personally, I don't care where he comes from, just be a guy with fresh ideas, you get this guy is a disciple of so and so and he's runs the exact same defense that's been seen before. Give me someone that game plans for each individual team, no cookie cutter defense for the entire league. Bill Belichick does this well, in Brady's first SB win over "The Greatest Show on Turf", he played a 4/7 defense with all 7 being DBs, exactly what the Eagles should have done against the Chiefs.
February 25, 20232 yr I just wish they’d name the DC so they can start moving foreword and charting out the defense accordingly. They should be involved in draft boards for fit and scheme. The longer it drags out, the more likely we see square pegs drafted for round holes and draft picks that don’t settle into roles for the defense until year 4. I trust their judgement in who to hire, but let’s not screw up the time line.

Further guessing that we are working to hire a new QB coach (likely a safe assumption that Brian Johnson is being promoted from QB coach to OC) and a new LB coach so the announcement regarding the coordinators is on hold until those hires are made - they typically release a single statement announcing all new hires.

In this day and age, they have so many scouts and technology that these players are weighed and categorized already. Want to run a certain scheme? Here are the top 10 players for that position and what potential round you can get them in. At the end of the day, Wilson will be the DC anyway.

Hopefully they find good people to replace Johnson and Wilson for their old responsibilities.

If you think Howie and his team haven't put a plan together on our free agents, outside free agents and the draft board already your mistaken. I'm sure the coaching staff has some input but Howie and Jeffrey pull the triggers.

DK McDonald is apparently next in line at DB, Alex Tanney at QB tho they did bring in Marcus Brady who was QB coach & then OC in Indy after Sirriani so it could be him instead. LB could be an outside guy. All this depends on finally getting a DC
