I'm sure the coaching staff has some input but Howie and Jeffrey pull the triggers. Yeah, the offense should still be elite and Hurts hasn’t necessarily hit his ceiling yet. The D will face some challenges but we will hopefully be able to retain 2/3 of the key free agents. Hopefully Davis and Dean take the leap and we have 2 first round picks who will hopefully be able to make an immediate contribution. No reason to be downbeat
February 25, 20232 yr I really don’t get the apprehension about taking their time to get the right DC and other coaches. Do you REALLY think the eagles brass and scouts are sitting around not doing anything until the DC and OC are named? yeah….. doesn’t make a lot of sense does it?

No reason to be downbeat Having all 4 of them becoming significant contributors doesn’t seem likely but should that happen it would go a long way to helping us stay atop the NFC. On the flip side, if Howie has another subpar draft and we end up with only 1 of those 4 playing significant roles, then we are likely in for a long season. We really need to hit on our day 1 and 2 picks this year and hope that the scouting reports on others drafted recently were on point.

Was just coming to post this: Quote Sean Desai in Philadelphia for second Eagles defensive coordinator interview Posted by Michael David Smith on February 27, 2023, 7:26 AM EST The Eagles have brought defensive coordinator candidate Sean Desai in for a second interview. Desai previously interviewed virtually and is now in Philadelphia to interview in person, according to NFL Network. Philadelphia’s defensive coordinator position became vacant after the Super bowl when Jonathan Gannon left to become head coach of the Cardinals. Desai is currently on the Seahawks’ staff with the title of associate head coach/defensive assistant. In 2021 he was defensive coordinator of the Bears. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/02/27/sean-desai-in-philadelphia-for-second-eagles-defensive-coordinator-interview/

People said that with Doug and Siri, both of them took their teams to the Super Bowl in their 2nd seasons. It happened to us when Doug lost Riech etc, after the SB. It is happening again.

February 27, 20232 yr People focus too much on the DC previous experience, without realizing that that can be a disadvantage. My mane criteria for the new DC is someone sound with NEW ideas. Generally Eagles find their guy and it works out well in the end, and that can only be done after many interviews. Which is why I support Eagles interviewing so many candidates.

Would be interesting to see how his D performed as the game went on ie if he adjusted well. It’s hard when your personnel isn’t good but at least that shows if they got better or worse in game
February 28, 20232 yr Author Take Schumann off the list of potential candidates to be new DC now too. https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/27/philadelphia-eagles-news-glenn-schumann-georgia-bulldogs-jonathan-gannon/

Surprised no one posted. Yeah seems like Minter, Desai or Wilson. Desai has always seemed like candidate who fit what they wanted best

I think fundamentally they believe in the system. Making better calls or adding pressure packages against certain QBs is easier than scrapping the entire thing for something new
February 28, 20232 yr good move to promote him, he is a rising star...but that is a double edge sword....If they repeat the success they had in 2022 and Jalen shows even more improvement.. Brian Johnson will not last more than one season as an OC before someone plucks him for a HC gig...The turn around in the NFL is literally year to year now
